Plantation shutters on sliding doors and ? on windows

We have Plantation white composite shutters on 2 sliding doors in our great room in Florida small 1700 sq ft house and right now have composite white blinds on the windows in rest of house. I do not like the composite white blinds as difficult to clean and always seem dusty. Any suggestions for another type of blind for other windows in the same room as plantation shutters on sliders and even throughout the house? Do I need to put plantation shutters on all the windows for continuity?Thanks

I have all plantation shutters in my Florida home. Ine reason was because in the main room, there are three different types of window! Having them installed throughout the home gave me one less thibg to try to coordinate, plys I really like the look of them.

You can certainly find other large slat blinds.

You can do other window treatments in bedrooms and bathroom.

Plantation shutters make a huge statement in every room, so regardless what other shades or blinds you might consider, they will not work with the plantation shutters. You either take the plantation out and start over with a window treatment style you like or you go with plantation shutters for all your units.

If you wanted to soften things a little, I would do some fabric Roman shades. Maybe tie in some of the warm tones of your cabinets and granite. You can never go wrong with Plantation shutters, they're a great feature for resale. If you decide to do shutters, don't forget to check if your door hardware will interfere with them. If you have lever door knobs, the shutters will need to have a cutout so the levers can work.

For the Hunter Douglas Bypass Shutters you don't have to have a floor frame. It's an option and most of the one's we install do not have it because of the trip hazard and most people don't want to put screws through their floors. I would highly recommend them if your doing shutters on the other windows. It will all co-ordinate nicely.

I haven't quite decided what look I'm going for 100% yet but I know I want to use the dining table I have a little sample of in these inspiration boards I have been putting together- it was my grandparents' table. I ordered the chandelier and island lights too. I think I like a bright, pretty, classic, a little coastal/ cottage but not too much, and relatively neutral or light blues. I'll have white shaker cabinets with a marble looking quartz countertop.

Rosemarynjf, What did you decide to do with your windows? we just ordered plantation shutters for two sliding glass doors that face front and also for a large 3 section casement window in the same room. I’m a little nervous about how different it will look since we have just had white curtains for years. Do you have pictures of your shutters on your sliders that you can share?
