Window grids vs no grids
Comments (20)A lot of it is house dependent. A friend of mine was replacing an upper story dormer window and I showed him how different windows would look to help him decide. If you're interested in seeing options on your house check out my web site, Creative Visual Concepts. Here's what I showed him. Current window: Option #1 Option #2 Option #3...See MoreNo grids or grids in double hung windows?
Comments (8)You have a mix of styles and I would consider it transitional in style. No white windows for this house. You can use bronze or sandstone. The windows can still be white on the inside provided the windows you have selected are not vinyl....See MoreGrids , Top Grids only or No Grids
Comments (6)Are you squaring off the upper centre window or keeping the arch? I like being able to look outside through an unobstructed window when I’m seated especially and I like the bit of gain of extra daylight. I’d consider two over one. Might work well to simplify because you have a lot of windows and shutters on the front face. Maybe houssaon will mock that one for you. The other thing to think about is your window coverings, blinds or plantation type shutters can add to the busy aspect and spoil a divided light window, looks like you use a pull down shade in the upper windows?...See MoreWindow grids or no grids...help ASAP
Comments (18)I appreciate all of your comments and suggestions about the grids and the advice given about the exterior in general. The home was a 1979 that we hired a home design firm to remodel. This is what they came up with, which is not my taste, nor does it feel right to me for some reason. I have battled this with my husband and them for months and now we are needing to get the house framed in asap to meet our construction loan timeline. Will you believe that this was the second design and exterior rendering? I will share the first idea in case it appears more balanced to you all. It's not too late to revert back and eat the front window order. This is what we get when my husband doesn't hire an architect to do an architect's job. I'm just sick. Any constructive help would be greatly appreciated and desired quickly. Also, to answer a few questions from before, the grids would be between glass...yes, I know already a strike against me. Nothing is sacred anymore. Another quirk of the home is that the main floor has 11'9" ceilings with the exception of the kitchen, dining and living room which is at 10'. The overall size of the new plan is 3 stories and 5765 sq ft. I would have preferred a smaller, but more quality build, but that is also another long, boring story. Needless to say, hopefully in the future my husband will listen more to his wife. lol....See MoreCelery. Visualization, Rendering images
