Dilemma about cabinets...Please help me...Lots of questions
Comments (38)Just a couple of comments from a kitchen designer, if your sink is going to be undermount and it is 33" you will need a cabinet BIGGER than 33" to contain it. I don't see how you can do this even in custom. Maybe they could do 34" or 35"? It's really awkward to reach stuff on a 30" deep counter not to mention cleaning. 3/4" is definitely preferable for shelving. Another factor is the width of the cabinet. The wider you go the more likely you will have sagging. I'd say absolutely do not go over 36" wide if you're using 1/2" shelves. Comments (13)Good points, I understand where you are coming from re: sink -stove - pivot.. I'll have to take another look at that, it's just all the photo's I like of kitchens seem to have this symmetrical look... lavender_lass What is 'P' 'R' and 'MW' I'm guessing Microwave for the third??? RE: Is there a Dining Room elsewhere or is the "nook" space the only table space? (It looks like there is no other table space.) There is no other dining space, this will be a 'walk - out' basement suite.. So as good as it gets.. plenty of space really for 2 beds.. Hoping if we aren't living in it to get a professional couple who need a spare bedroom or a couple with 1 child.... Would you be willing to consider moving the table to the left and utilizing as much of the bay space as possible for the Kitchen? Would you consider replacing them with windows that are 36" off the finished floor Ans: No, it wouldn't be cost effective for us to do that, we are already moving walls and doors around... Would you consider a banquette? Ans: I'm not sure what you mean.. How many seats does the table have to accommodate? Ans: Probably 4 - 6 at a cosy stretch...See MorePlease help me choose kitchen table that matches this design....
Comments (2)Thank you, Samantha . -- I was trying to find something a little different, but I guess people still love the farmhouse tables. Maybe I can get really comfy chairs. What color table though? Does it have to match the dark floors? Thanks again...See MorePlease help get me back to GW kitchen table and out of Houzz
Comments (13)If you fire up your old macbook and you're still signed into gardenweb using Firefox, you may be in luck. If you are logged in using Firefox I could do a more step-by- step on how to locate the cookie file. Firefox makes it easy to locate the correct folder. Another way to find troubleshooting info by going through the hamburger menu. (the three lines) Or even better: about:support Then you'll see where to open the profile directory and find the file. I don't like Chrome either but probably for a reason that doesn't matter to most anyone else. (I prefer tabs on bottom, Firefox lets me do that, Chrome does not) The error you posted is the one I get. Other browsers might word it differently but it's the same error. Anyone that does not have trouble with gardenweb(dot)com links, it's because you haven't logged out, either intentionally or inadvertently. Unless Houzz fixes it, sooner or later everyone will be using houzz(dot)com. I like the way gardenweb is styled better than houzz so I'll use it until I can no longer use it. I can picture the techs pulling their hair out and cussing every time they make a change on houzz that breaks something on gardenweb. Anyone that is logged in using gardenweb(dot)com and prefers it over houzz(dot)com, don't log out or clear cookies. :-) "If you can get in on chrome you’re leaps ahead of me!" I missed that. Same here. Maybe in whatever way the OS update messed up Firefox, it just didn't mess up Chrome? Perhaps sitting beside a new Firefox profile is an old Firefox profile with a logged in gardenweb cookie? I might go to the currently active Firefox profile by going through "Troubleshooting information" as above then hit the up arrow and look for another profile directory. Inside that older profile might be a cookies.sqlite file that once pasted into the active directory, would switch you to signed in. (close Firefox before pasting the replacement cookie file, then start it back up) Probably too much to hope for... but worth a look see?...See Moremxk3 z5b_MI
