Getting rid of ditch lilies
Comments (6)Ditch lily buds are delicious to eat in chinese food (they are the weird unrecognizable vegetables in well-made Mu-shu whatever), and altho I have grown and continue to grow hundreds of fancier DLs, the toughest, brightest (en masse), tallest, perkiest, longest blossoming DLs have always been the ditch lilies, despite the fact that I banished them to the steep parts of the yard where the soil was little more than ground rock and there was NO supplemental water and not a ditch anywhere in sight. So banish them, but don't kill them entirely off. Everyone needs a bit of orange somewhere!...See Morelooking for "ditch lilies "
Comments (10)my email : is amyebel67@gmail.com , remind me through email of price for shipping and product. I truly apologize. I've planted them. they're in that curious state of not growing but not dead. just email me so I can compensate you . I've simply gotten sucked into the void of moving and gardening two houses at once living in 2 houses , while minding the 3 yr old . my apologies . - Amy Ebel...See MoreNot a regular ditch lily?
Comments (4)Thanks for the ID! I know they can be invasive - but where I've planted them, down in the corner of my yard nearest the street, surrounding the street sign and stop sign - I don't really care if they spread :) I mean, if they start spreading more than about a 5 foot square maybe I'll start caring, but I'll just mow them over when I mow the grass....See MoreAnyone have some ditch lilies to share?
Comments (8)Congratulations on the Sprout! Very cute baby. Loved seeing your pictures also. I had put in some gorgeous Larkspur but ended up taking it out as it is deadly to dogs. Might want to do some research on it's affect on humans. It appears to be a skin irritant if just touched and not ingested but is toxic if ingested. My boy dog tends to go through the bed it was in with his mouth open sniffing around so I got worried. While there are many poisones plants that cause problems this one seemed to be more potent than most, causing death in dogs, with no known treatment....See MoreL Clark (zone 4 WY)
