looking for "ditch lilies "

the orange day lilies often referred to as " ditch lilies" in the south , and here in the north are called or mistaken for tiger lilies , grow wild , roadside , so times found in old gardens ...I'm desperately looking for a small bit of tuber with fans attached. they aren't sold commercially. and I want something prolific and resilient . no yellow day lily hybrid will do. I may still have a very small stand of the common orange ditch lily, but it is a double or triple, I'm not sure which. If it is still there, and you want it, you are welcome to it.

There's plenty on eBay. Search for orange, tawny, ditch or wild daylilies. Properly, you're looking for Hemerocallis fulva variety, or it's double version Kwanso. Google that and lots of offers will come up. Choose the best for you.

Little Audrey is an old one, I know there are newer ones that look a bit like it, but it is really a good one. Heavy bloomer & blooms for quite a long time. I'm so disappointed that Easy Ned & Starman's Quest aren't what they were supposed to be, although I like the Starman's Quest wanna be. It does look a lot like Diabolique, maybe I should get that one to compare. The weather has been really odd lately, unseasonably cool for a couple days, turning really hot & humid, then the last 2-3 days we're quite cool again. Hopefully Little Show Stopper will double. I can't remember for sure, but I believe I bought it in bloom so it should be right. Evening Enchantment is one of my favorites, you should definitely get it Michelle. I got Neon Rainbow last spring, but it didn't bloom for me. It is had several blooms so far & every one has looked lovely, despite being overtaken by my larkspur. Siloam Double Classic is an older one, but I love the color & the flowers are always so perfect, even if they don't double.

Mystic I appreciate the kind offer but these daylilies come back year after year and bloom nicely and I have a lot of them. I must say that they are my favorite daylily though. They look so natural here in the mountains. These daylilies bloomed nicely this year also; it's just that after they finish they always turn ugly, yellow and brown. Somebody should jump on your offer because the wild type daylilies are wonderful in my opinion.

I sent her a box at least a month ago with several ditch lilies and some Kwanzo. Tracking told me when they were delivered. I've e-mailed to ask if she received them and have heard nothing. I thought she might say thank you.

I think I have what's called ditch lilies. My brother gave them to me last year and said they were from my Grandpa's old house.

My grandpa died in 1955 and my brother just passed in April, so these will be very special to me.

They have scrapes but haven't bloomed yet. I would be happy to share when they increase enough.

I think eventually, I would like to have a drift of the old 'ditch lilies' somewhere on the property. If anyone has lots and needs to dig some up and get rid of them, I would be willing to trade something.

I love the way the foliage grows when they aren't in bloom too. much narrower leaves that get long and do this graceful arch thing . It's strange to me to buy an old house and find not one scrap of the original garden . I kinda of loathe our new yard but one thing at a time . patience is hard.
