Eco-Wares offers Trojan Masonry Sealer that leaves no trace, but they also have a TINTED one called Color Sealer. He's sending me the color chart of 36 colors. Yes, 36 colors! According to Michael, TCS dramatically changes the color of your brick without making it shiny, it's matte, it is permanent, and waterbased. It's a green product ta boot. Coolest stuff I've come across in a long time. Really excited about it. If you call him, get info, or use it, definitely post back. I don't have the color chart, so I can't make a guess at what might work to bring some harmony to your exterior, but honestly it doesn't sound like it would be that difficult to pull together a good exterior color combo. soooo .. if i understand.. you dont really mind the front facade ... its more the sides that are bothering you ... thats where the monotone is.. to your eye ... i guess i dont know why you would not just change the sides??? but boy.. looking at the side .. i have no clue where i would go with those vertical lines .... and that tiny window... yikes ... but i still like the front as it is ... part of your side problem.. could be accomplished with trellises.. and introducing a vertical element to your foundation plantings ... that is part of the problem... the vast unbroken wall ... leading you to one vast unbroken color.. whatever it may be ... and i am still flustered by the vertical rather than horizontal siding.. whats that all about.. lol ... just playing devils advocate.. and adding variables for you to consider.. outside the box you are standing in .. props for hunting the area to scope out other paint schemes... its always nice to see it done wrong... lol ... ken

I'd paint it. As Rachel listed, Romabio is an appropriate paint/stain/lime wash for bricks. do not use regular paint on bricks. do not power wash them either. before and after, Romabio lime wash You don't have a ton of siding. I'd get new siding rather than paint that. (if you can even paint it) what color is your roof? that's going to somewhat dictate the colors you can choose. you can't go wrong with white, cream, a lime wash, or other neutrals. You could do a white brick, a darker color siding (lets say, navy or charcoal), white trim and a bright color for the front door.

Help! Seeking paint color ideas; aiming for updated traditional look. Would prefer to keep door yellow. Find current paint and black shutters drab. Pics show sun and shade, how it varies. Struggling for paint scheme that looks refined, updated traditional. And doesn’t call too much attention to the half brick 70s vibe. Not interested in painting the brick.
