So surprised to see a pair of muscovy ducks in our pond. We'd not seen them here before. They were aggressively harassing the geese. I think they were trying to chase the geese off, but they were out numbered and left for other digs.

DD stopped for a visit and gave me another flower pot - vase that she had made and I filled it with flowers from my garden.

I cant say that it is very different from the love I feel for my daughter and sons. But, there is a special happiness from knowing our family is expanding to another generation. Our three kids are now 37, 34 (DD) and 29. We privately wondered if we would ever be blessed with grandchildren. The two boys (I should probably call them men at this point) are still light years from marriage. We are hoping DD and SIL will have another. He is from a family of four kids and his sister is having a fourth child, so SIl’s family culture is for larger families. . Fingers crossed!

jim....Looking forward to it! ☺ The ones I planted year before last, in front of the house, we lost some after they bloomed like crazy. None bloomed at ALL this year, some died. We think they didn't get enough water....? What do you think? I could use some help.

Thanks! We went out to dinner with friends last night! It was wonderful to be able to do that again. I celebrated with a pot of steamed Alaskan King Crab 🦀! A big splurge but I had to make up for the past couple of years! 👍

Early in the season, the milkweed blooms are almost perfectly spherical. Later on, the milkweed bugs will eat on them and they won't be quite so pretty. But the bugs are kinda cute in their own way, so as long as they don't get out of hand, I won't squish'em.

I love this shot of a woman putting her hand on the foot of St. Peter for a blessing -- you can see the way centuries of prayerful people have touched the statue with prayers of need or thanks, wearing away the bronze toes on one foot, and now the other.

Last week, we booked a cruise to Alaska for 7 days in August! Not on this Carnival ship (which was in Stephens Passage), but our first cruise in more than 19 months!

(but not of me, because I was there on my own), and - in the same theme - this one from the statue of Maimonides, in Cordoba; touching the statue is said to bring good luck.

Oh my, I was just googling University of Wisconsin’s tradition freshmen rubbing the left foot of the Abe Lincoln staute and an artcle popped up protesting the statue.

DD attended there briefly.
