Jean and Rita - The sheer number of blooms on Autumn Jewels took me by surprise today. It's been having 8-9 blooms a day for about a week. But 19 flowers on it amazed me. I wish it would have the bud count it's registered as having (35). Mine has 20-25 buds per scape, but I'd love to see it have over 30. With bud building, one of my El Desperado scapes got to 37 in the same bed. Linda - August Frost does have a wonderful cooling effect on a hot day. Kay - I really like Francis of Assisi but wish it would clump up faster. It's planted in front of Autumn Jewels and the two look good together. At one time I had five fans of FOA growing in a pot, but lost all but one during a wet winter two years ago. Now I'm finally up to three fans of it again. Thanks for your comments, everyone! Debra

Nat - Most of my blooms looked pretty good this morning, It was mostly gentle rain. Yesterday was another story. There were only about 20 that looked good out of 500. Maryl - Paul Owens sent me Empire of Desire as a bonus when I ordered two other yellows from him last fall: Lunar Empire and Victorian Garden Emerald Breeze. I think I'm going to end up liking Empire of Desire more than the other two. It is a very bright yellow. Mantis - I don't have any yellow seedlings. I decided I needed more yellows after seeing some landscaping at a highway rest stop where all the daylilies were yellow, orange, and gold. They were really holding their color in the hottest part of the afternoon. I decided to add some taller yellows and oranges so my gardens wouldn't look so anemic in the heat. I may end up hybridizing with them at some point. The photo of Venus's Fire was taken about 9 a.m when part of that garden is still in shade, but the outside edge is in the sun. Goldie does have sturdy stems, but when several of those huge blooms get wet, scapes can bend over. That hasn't happened this year, but it did one summer. Luckily the wind with the recent storms hasn't been that bad. I think only Shelby and Grape Twizzler were casualties. Strolling in the Roses has never been this tall before. It is registered at 44 inches, but in past years has only attained about 38 inches here. The flowers didn't look strange until Goldie started to bloom. Jean - I Remember You is always one of my favorite purples. I don't think I've ever seen Age of Aquarius with this dark a color. It's usually much lighter. Debra

Since it is loading slowly for you, I will start part III so that you can post more. I would not be overly concerned whether a song is posted more than once, if it is loading slowly for you. I do not think that yours are repeats, from what I remember. I counted 39 videos uploaded for this one, and I think 40 is the cutoff for slow loading. Link to Part III
