Twin girl nursery ideas!!

Hello! We are putting together our nursery and would love some help. Trying to keep it neutral with pops of dusty Rose/blush color.

What size rug would look best? Do the edges need to be under the furniture or will it look okay in the middle of the room? With an 8X10 it is too large and door will not close smoothly.
What color curtains? White/neutral or a color? Also, do we need to put curtains on both window? Worries the babies might start pulling on the curtains by cribs when a little older.

I’d switch cribs and dresser (and remove mirror), so you can decorate wall above cribs. You’ll probably have to move chair to other corner.

I‘d just use baby proof blinds. A smaller sized rug centered between the two cribs is enough. Be sure the rug has enough weight not to bunch, to avoid tripping.

Before buying a rug, be sure you settle on room set up and there are many ideas on Pinterest; search neutral nursery for twins. For additional decor ideas; search neutral nurseries.

Oh what fun and endless possibilities! Congratulations as well!

For the windows...I would do darkening ones floor to ceiling for the end. You can put a mould over them to match the other windiws without curtains. You could dona standard but ornate moulding or a couple of these crowns together, depending on the look you want.

A 6x9 or 5x7 rug maybe since 8x10 creates issues with your door. A nice rocker and lots of fun things you can do with the walls and dresser.

have you checked out HGTV's Rate my space. I was looking on there last night and saw some very beautiful kids rooms/nursery's. One room (for boys, but it could be unisex!) RED bedding, with accents of blue, cream, brown, etc. The bedding was PB with ivory looking stars on it. Didn't scream boy to me. Very cute! Green walls. :o) Saw another boy nursery on there that had caramel apple colored walls. Crib was cream with glaze. Bedding was pale blue toile. So very cute. I've seen that exact toile fabric in pink as well. So you could paint the room the caramel brown, do her bed in the pink fabric, and his in the blue. Wow, would that be cute. Then do their accessory pillows, etc. in creams, ivorys, chocolate. It's much cuter IRL than it sounds. LOL! If you like shabby chic, you could always just do various shades of vanilla in the room. If your children won't be playing in their room (ie: markers and messes) than creams/ivory's/whites would be sooo pretty. :o) Can't wait to see what you do. Congrat's on expecting!!

Will the girls be sharing for the rest of the time that you live in this home? If so, I would recommend planning for matching twin beds or bunkbeds now, so you can be sure you can match when it's time for little sis to have a big girl bed too.

Eddy are you saying the bed is going now and it will be a nursery? SW Intimate white is a beautiful blush color. First and foremost before painting any type of pink I would make sure you like it near your wood trim. Pink with that tone of wood is not ideal. Have you considered painting your trim white? Also if you keep the bed I wouldnt paint it gold. The lines of the bed are not classic and TBH dated so I wouldnt invest time or money into it. If you still want a bed in the room I would consider a day bed with a trundle. That will be your least costly and most versatile option. Then once your daughter is old enough it could become her big girl bed. Here are some that would be beautiful in your space based off your inspiration photo These could work for guests, parents that want to sleep in room with baby on occasion as well and transition into her bed once she is ready.

I would also flip the cribs and dresser if possible. Pick fabrics for the room that incorporate the carpet color, and skip the rug. In a baby's room, I'd do room darkening baby-proof shades or roman blinds (babies can tug on long drapers as they start crawling). Color will depend on the other fabrics in the room. All of the above images would be great in your room! Also - yes to a chandelier!
