The other kind of ventilation - bathrooms

So we have a 10x10 full bath on the 2nd floor which will have a FUTURE steam shower and a 3x7 powder room on the 1st floor that both need ventilation.

Our plan is to put a Fantec CVS400A in the attic and run (3) 4-inch outlets - one down to the 1st-floor powder room and one over the toilet & one right outside the shower door in the 2nd-floor bathroom. The roofers put a 4in roof vent in with an uninsulated flexible vent hanging into the attic.

On the 2nd floor, we can use either 4in insulated flexible duct to connect the outlet to the fan or if it would make things quieter or less problematic due to the steam shower high vapor air to use 4 inch PVC?

Also, the 1st-floor powder room - concern here is just odors. The only path to vent it is to run the vent up, under the 2nd floor, and through a 2x4 wall up to the attic. There is no other path to vent this bathroom. So what is the best type of duct to use for this? Especially in the 2x4 wall part? Squish the flexible vent in the wall? Put in a 3in PVC? Use metal oval ac type duct?

This part of the project is in the DIY part of the game, so we do need to figure this out!
