Anyone have pics of their foil tape plant markers?
Comments (5)I tried this at the beginning of the sowing season - Feb. for me. I took a strip of foil tape, wrapped it around the cut up blind (the long way, so the whole surface was covered) and used a fine point sharpie to "write and engrave" the plant name. Struck them in my jugs and put them outside. I guess it "worked" in that, yes, I can read the writing (sharpie ink long gone) but it is a lot of trouble to do. I got some paint pens instead and so far, I am loving using them. NO FADE at all. Bought them on ebay for a few bucks, probably cheaper than foil tape if you did the figuring....See MorePlastic plant name markers

Comments (2)Diane, I don't remember where I bought my Brother GL 100 Garden Labeler - I searched online and ordered by the best price. Amazon has it right now for $35 and that's in the ball park of what I paid about 4 yrs ago, give or take a dollar or two. I'm not sure I would have bought it for just my own use, but I grow quite a bit for friends and family and occasionally sell plants. I get the clear, black print tape at Staples for use on different colored labels, then nothing showing but the print. Here is a link that might be useful: Brother GL 100...See MoreHow do you make permanent markers

It is the only one of the many gardens there where everything is labeled. 2) I use pretty standard metal labels that are sold in most garden centers. The Paw-paw Everlast company is one that makes this type of label. I have been using a Laser Printer to print clear labels that I apply to the metal labels. I suppose a label-maker that prints 3/4 inch wide labels would also work. Periodically labels disappear; perhaps a local dog walked through and ripped them out....See Moremmmm12COzone5
