Checked out Hubbardton Forge, nice stuff, not exactly the right sizes or colors. But a very nice line. While at Lamps Plus I did see the Kichler Montara Collection 24 1/2" Wide Pendant light with umber glass. It's a bit old world and might have to be shortened but the price was certainly right! I've also seen ONLINE this porcelain fixture, but I hate to buy something like this sight unseen! I have about 114" from the beam to the floor and a pendant will spread the light better as well as look better mounted on the beam. That leaves about 7 ft from the floor and this will/should sit over the large square glass/wood coffee table. Here is a link that might be useful: Fixture choice

Thanks! It makes me feel better that I like something that is not the latest thing. The only decisions in my house that I've regretted are the ones that were very "of the moment". Moments pass quickly! Pdmd, I think that is gorgeous. I figure if the lighting companies are still manufacturing them and selling them, they are current. I am so glad that all of my kitchen remodel decisions are behind me. I now have to replace the broken garbage disposal, the icemaker in the refrigerator and the moveable vent thing on the OTR microwave. Some porcelain tiles on the floor have cracked and the grout has been replaced in some spots. Don't ever relax and think "done"!

I can't really make out how the globes attach to the fixture from the pictures. Normally I would think a washer inside the globe would work, but that doesn't look possible with the new globe. But, I think that you could attach a washer, if you can find one that is large enough yet has the opening size that you need, to the top of the globe. Maybe something brass so it looks like it should be there. You would need a very strong, permanent adhesive, something like JB Weld.
