Ugly 70s Rock Exterior Pillars
Comments (9)Load bearing for what exactly? Just that overhang/awning? Those can’t be holding up the entire roof. I usually try to make conservative recommendations, but lordy—those things have got to go. I think it will do wonders for the curb appeal. Throwing money into landscaping in the hopes of distracting from the pillars will be a waste of money....See MoreExterior redo, keep rock- but what??!
Comments (6)Our neighbor had woodpeckers make a hole and then a nest in their cedar siding. They are protected so they couldn't do anything until the babies grew up and left. Replaced the siding and the next year they draped a big rubber snake on the siding through several large cup hooks with fishing line attached to the head and tail. They would move the snake around every day until mating season was over and then they took him down. They used him for 2 or 3 years and then stopped after no wood peckers came to check out their siding....See MoreExterior help please, ugly 70's rock. offset with stucco or ?
Comments (13)Great Suggestions. thank you. Will definitely reduce trim to just around windows. Good suggestion. To change/remove the bay window would definitely require a contractor - would change the roof line. Will investigate this. I am definitely favoring removing the stone. The first painter recommended replacing the rock with stucco, instead of more matching siding, to give a bit of texture contrast. Painting everything white is on the list of possible colors. My husband favors steel/charcoal blue but with the brown roof, may not work. My major dilemma is trying to picture the changes. I have tried the free online tools to draw the proposed changes but the ones I tried are clunky. Here is a street view of the entire house....See MoreHelp with outside exterior rocks?
Comments (12)Definitely not gray with a tan roof. When you say ’flat roof’ you don’t mean removing the whole roof and its pitch, do you? In my experience, flat roofs always leak because they don’t drain off. I’d see if I could get the rocks and chimney the same color as the siding/stucco (or whatever the body of the house is). If you stay with the current roof color or go to a tan, make the rest of the house a pale tan or cream or beige....See MoreDK F
