Comments (4)Is it hybrid or common Bermuda? No one likes the looks of those crop circles. Before I leveled I used the lowest setting available (on my Honda) where it didn't scalp (roughly 1.5"). I have found, as the summer progresses, with heat, rain and fert, I end up moving higher by the end of summer (close to 2"). I was cutting 2X per week. Now that I have leveled, I use a reel mower and cut at 7/8". In the back I have common Bermuda, so I have my JD tractor set at 1.75" and cut 2X per week....See MoreBermuda Mowing Frequency
Comments (2)It's a bit wasteful since it doesn't need to be mowed that frequently for an inch high but if you enjoy lawn maintenance you're in luck. At least for a few months of the year....See MoreBermuda Color - Before and After Mowing
Comments (6)Thanks - I have a power reel mower and there's no way with my work schedule that I could mow 2-3 times a week. We have had a lot of rain in Central Florida this summer, most recently from a tropical storm. I have my Tru-Cut sent on the highest setting now, which appears to leave the grass at about 1" to 1 1/4" or so. Quite possibly, I am cutting off more than 1/3 of the blade. Fertilization is being handled by Tru Green, but I'm not sure about chinch bug control. I am seeing more and more patch and sparse areas. Maybe I should have chosen Empire Zoysia when I resodded instead of Bermuda ?...See Moredchall_san_antonio
