Gift and party ideas for 21st birthday
Comments (6)Well, to many a clown and a pony would be cute but it might go over rather like the Hindenburg. No offense, but aren't you asking the wrong people? Seems to me the ones to ask are the recipients. My first thought is that if he's not hanging around with high school friends, there could well be a reason, and inviting them without his consent would be quite risky. Likely it won't be a surprise anyway if they're expecting parties and if it's always happened, they probably will expect it whether they want it or not. Perhaps he'd like the money for a party to go toward the car rather than an expensive party. I too am a bit confused since there's not a lot of 2002-2003 cars on the market for $500. Maybe he'd like a nice dinner out with his GF and have dessert at home with the family & friends afterward? Or maybe wants something quiet? I'd ask them point blank. What would you like for your birthday? Would you like a party? Small or large? What type of theme, if any? Who would you like invited? I'm just thinking that he might feel like he's being treated like a 10 year old rather than an adult. If you're giving money, and if he has a sense of humor, you could take a box and individually wrap some rolls of coins and bills of different denominations, maybe some gas cards or prepaid credit cards, pack them all into one big box and watch him unwrap his money a few dollars at a time. Again, depends on the person. I'd really suggest getting him involved....See MoreI hooked a little birthday gift (1 pic)
Comments (13)Minnie, I use old wool clothing, cut into strips. Sometimes I dye the wool. The backing is either jute burlap or linen burlap. The hook looks like a crochet hook with a wooden handle. Jannie, I put the lights up when it was warm last week, but if they were in a hard-to-reach place--like the roof--I'd definitely be tempted to leave them up all year round. :-) Thanks, everyone!...See Morebirthday gift for two year old who has a lot of stuff already
Comments (44)if u don't want to go the book route, how about a savings bond?? u pay $25 and in 15-20 (i forget which) years its worth $50., i know its doesn't sound like a lot but we did that for our kids since birth. for my oldest it paid half of her college bill in junior year. had the whole family on board and everyone did it when they were too little realize they really didn't "get" anything.. everyone always got them a little something to go with it, so when they we knew they should get presents, they had something to open.. the amounts go as high as $500 i think. did it for every occasion, it really adds up!!! $500 bond, $1,000 in allotted time plus interest if u hold onto them past the mature date.......See MoreBday gift for 2 y/o girl
Comments (19)We have a two yr old in the family - lots of years where we've had 2 yr olds to buy for over the years with DH's big family ;0) Kids today seem to have SO MANY toys. I've self imposed a toy rule - if its bigger than a shoe box and will need to have some place for 'mom' to put it away, I don't buy it ;0) Honestly, without a designated playroom which we didn't have growing up, I wouldn't know where all this stuff goes. With grandparents pitching in for the current wants, I'll often do a book, leggings and tee or top. It may not be the most exciting gift the child receives at their birthday party but functional and will never require a storage locker rental.... I do try to do comfortable and quality, often turning to Hannah Andersson which the moms seem to appreciate. They turn into hand-me-downs rather than wearing out....See MoreZalco/bring back Sophie!
