Is there a museum pass for multliple DC museums?

Maybe a basket of food items: jug of maple syrup, peach preserves, stone ground grits, benne wafers, that sort of thing.

An Old Bay gift basket with crab eating gadgets: mallet, cracker, crab meat picker? I have family in Maryland, and I love their crab boils.

As someone who moved to the East Coast from CA, forget the crab stuff. California Dungeness crab is so far superior to eastern crab, it's not funny. Not to annoy Easterners, but I haven't yet seen a West Coaster fall in love with Eastern crab, but I have seen many Easterners who did not like crab fall in love with the West Coast product.

When we moved, the best things we found were great neighbors. We used the very local Facebook pages for recommendations on restaurants, stores, pretty much everything. Sadly, many people no longer get print newspapers, so I'd ask first.

I like the idea of museum passes, or other local attractions. The Morris Arboretum is just a mile from our house, and we used our membership there a lot during our first year here, so perhaps a similar garden or other outdoor space membership in the DC area.

PS, no offense to those who love their Eastern crab!

Mtn, one of the key features of living in DC is free museum access ;-) Getting acclimated to paying for entry to a museum took a minute for us.

That said there are a few private museums, The Philips Collection being my favorite. There is also the Hirshorn and the Kreeger Museum. Forget the Philips, Kreeger is my favorite- an amazing Philip Johnson house filled with gorgeous French furniture and stunning art.

An air conditioner. A phrase book where highways are not referred to as The number. its just number, unless its the Beltway. That book should also explain the difference bewteen inside and outside the beltway, and maybe directions for getting back to DC after you inadvertantly end up in Virginia.

Soft shell crabs are amazing. They are seasonal.

Washington Caps or Nationals gear. Some type of private tour of the arena or ballpark. I was lucky enough to do a private tour at Nats park via a dear friend.

That reminds me of a video someone posted here of two guys who live in Georgetown, one or both is from California, and they had a lot of California art in the house. It was an amazing house with the coolest couple.
