TV & storage cabinet ideas

We moved and I’d love recommendations on the style of a ‘built-in’ TV & storage cabinets. The living room area is adjacent to open kitchen. The living room area is tight and does not give us much flexibility. I like the look of the console table with the mission style chair. I’d probably stain the console table. Ideas on colour of stain? Should I keep the two pieces together? And ideas for the long wall? We hang our TV fairly low, maybe a bit higher than what it is now. The wooden blanket box is temporary until I can get a cabinet. Your ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

I think the furniture is way too big for the space , the console table makes the space even more crowded and as for the TV it is a the right height but I would look at some Ikea Besta units for that wall if you need storage and a bit of display space remove the console and then move the chair back a bit .

How do you feel about just placing tv above console table (shouldn’t be too high and you will get used to it) and having one less piece of furniture will benefit the space. Place love seat facing tv, matching chair with a small table/lamp/art centered on wall - see below. Mission chair on a bit of an angle near console.

Can‘t find a great example, but would sort of feel like this.

I shopped on homefurnituremart.com and got a Parker House Cityscape unit. However, Parker House makes some very large configurable units as well.

Love what you/DH have done with the entertainment center. It's by far the nicest home crafted piece I've seen. The barn tin is a perfect touch! I also love the pieces in your room -- lots of interesting pieces and those candlesticks are JUST what I've been looking for on my mantle. I agree with decorpas that you may want to consider rearranging the furniture to provide a more cozy space in front of the fireplace and tv. Perhaps as simple as swapping the sofa and chairs. You have done a good job of adding visual interest higher up on the walls-- the higher mantle and beams demand interest higher up. The only thing I struggle with is that it leaves you with an uncomfortable spot between the fireplace and the mantle.. I am not sure what yuo can do there. Perhaps an interesting iron piece? I don't think it needs to be anything too big or heavy-- just a touch of visual interest. Again.. great job on the entertainment center. I just love it.

I'm with pdu2503. We wired for a tv under covered porch, and don't plan to build a cabinet. Wall mount it, and call it good. Small tvs are too cheap these days. We also bought a couple TIC GS3 speakers that will need an amp. Storage for an amp might be something to consider if you're planning to run outdoor speakers.
