new tv cabinet need ideas for accents
Comments (13)Love what you/DH have done with the entertainment center. It's by far the nicest home crafted piece I've seen. The barn tin is a perfect touch! I also love the pieces in your room -- lots of interesting pieces and those candlesticks are JUST what I've been looking for on my mantle. I agree with decorpas that you may want to consider rearranging the furniture to provide a more cozy space in front of the fireplace and tv. Perhaps as simple as swapping the sofa and chairs. You have done a good job of adding visual interest higher up on the walls-- the higher mantle and beams demand interest higher up. The only thing I struggle with is that it leaves you with an uncomfortable spot between the fireplace and the mantle.. I am not sure what yuo can do there. Perhaps an interesting iron piece? I don't think it needs to be anything too big or heavy-- just a touch of visual interest. Again.. great job on the entertainment center. I just love it....See MoreIdeas on how to adjust corner built in to accommodate larger TV?
Comments (16)thanks for the suggestions. To Apple Pie, why wouldn't the corner be ideal? to the right off frame of the entire room picture is the doorway out to the patio. If we had the TV on the left wall and the sofa in front, that would cut the room in half and almost block access to the patio. Your earlier comment about pretending the right corner isn't there is an interesting way to envision it. i wouldn't want to bring the edge of the cabinets any further into the room. as you can probably tell from the whole room pic, the depth of the cabinets and shelving is the same on the left side and right. To katinparadise - that's a thought. But again, turning the sofa 90 degrees puts a crimp in the layout of the room, the tv on that side would still need to be angled out to accommodate viewing (so why not keep it in the corner where it is naturally angled?), and the cable outlet is in the right side in the corner....See MoreNeed help T.V. Comments (10)I like the look of your room. You could keep the coffee table you have (unless you want the shelf for function) and bring in some wood with a new console. (Can't see how much space you have or what functions you need, so just some guesses...)https://www.houzz.com/products/four-hands-irish-coast-tv-console-prvw-vr~41837930 https://www.houzz.com/products/modern-craftsman-3-piece-entertainment-center-distressed-oak-prvw-vr~28651590 https://www.houzz.com/products/64-contemporary-rustic-tv-stand-media-console-prvw-vr~53813700 https://www.houzz.com/products/70-wood-tv-standdriftwood-prvw-vr~23682205 Otherwise, you could go a number of directions with your decor... https://www.houzz.com/products/mercer-tv-stand-white-prvw-vr~68481857 https://www.houzz.com/products/melange-raellen-console-prvw-vr~24963556 https://www.houzz.com/products/60-tv-stand-gray-prvw-vr~77608987 https://www.houzz.com/products/art-home-furnishings-chateaux-entertainment-console-grey-prvw-vr~22976463 https://www.houzz.com/products/walker-edison-52-wood-console-table-buffet-tv-stand-antique-gray-prvw-vr~91755154 Hope this gives you some useful ideas, anyway. Obviously just guessing at what you might like in terms of style and interest. Closed storage definitely helps keep things tidy though!...See MoreConverting Part of Porch to Outdoor TV Area
Comments (3)Consider rain impact as porch is narrow and assume connection would be easy enough. I wouldn't mount tv, but rest on a low cabinet and you’ll get extra storage as well and not leave damage on wall. Two comfy chairs facing wall would work with a small table. Add an indoor outdoor rug, coordinated cushions and a large throw. Love the look below in regards to decor choices....See Moresheloveslayouts
