Seeking advice on LR layout (TV/fireplace dilemma)- help please!
Comments (22)I think the sectional is just too bulky for the room.. would it be that bad to leave the TV over the fireplace? what are the actual room dimensions? If you hang the tv on the short wall you need to have a way to watch without straining your neck.. what is the width of the room from fireplace (with the hearth) to the wall? option 1 - get rid of the sectional (yes it is comfy but bulky) and put a sofa facing fireplace, get 2 swivel chairs (recliners or not) to either face the tv on short wall or swing around and face the 'people' sitting on the sofa and a narrow ottoman for additional seating.. sketch the room on grid paper with as exact dimensions as you can.. option 2 - leave the TV above the fireplace but i would still replace the sectional with a sofa and chairs so you have more walk through space and the ability to move the chairs if you need to....See Morepainted Fireplace dilemma
Comments (9)Thanks all! Thoughts on layering a jute or sisal under the Loloi rug? I thought it’d be big enough but room def needs more. Am thinking adding lighter base could tie in natural mantel (which we were gonna stain—bought it that way and just threw up there with no intention of keeping but kinda growing on us....same with chachkee on mantel- no way final, was just what was laying around/playing with shape & dimensions. Thoughts??...See MoreFireplace Dilemma
Comments (3)This is in the main bedroom, in a nook. Would have have loved to have a stone fireplace surround but based on my research they’re all quite expensive. The fireplace is a bit too wide to have a wood surround so the only viable option I can think of is to have marble in the surround with a floating mantel above....See MoreTiling fireplace dilemma
Comments (6)The tile is in a 12” sheet. So, across the top is 5 sheets. Are you recommending I cut the sheets and space out the strips?...See MoreCat Thompson
