Dressing the half moon window

Anyone have a suggestion on how to dress the half moon windows other than what‘s currently there? It’s a western exposure so they have to be covered. The current blinds get so darn dusty….I do think I want roller shades on the bottom part of the window so what does one do here? Removing the half moon windows is not an option.

I would do fixed solar shade for the 1/2 moon and then solar shades for the bottom that can be raised and lowered depending on the day. Please take that clock off that mantel and get a nice piece of art for there in fact get a nice simple thick wood mantel the same width as the FP

You could use Zebra Shades. No dust issues.

Ok, so repainting the room is an option: that's your out! Or should I say "easy" solution? Repaint in a color more in keeping with the gorgeous rug (which is beautiful and valuable on many levels-honeymoon purchase being one of them!). Then your window treatments (panels-maybe) will be a much easier decision. I'm not loving the panel options mentioned above, which I think are nice, but a tad too informal for the direction you have taken with your room. Plus, they are very trendy, which again is not in keeping with your traditional style. You have heirloom quality pieces there! The rug and furniture should stay. Paint is cheap (compared to the investment in good quality furniture and the rug)! That's the way to make a significant impact without breaking the bank. Take a good look at the colors in the rug. On my monitor I see blue as the primary color, but monitors vary. Go to the paint store and bring some sample cards home, narrow it down and then go back and buy some paint samples and splotch away. In any case, have fun with this project!

My concern is the dresser would be blocking the heating/air vent. Is this the only vent in the room? I know there are air deflectors for floor vents, but I don't know what to do when it's on a wall sticking out like this.

IMO the 1/2 moon does nothing for the house so I would remove it since you are going modern farmhouse with the black windows I would do the pillars in wood and remove the shutters and then get rid of that very formal looking landscaping and do something mor ein keeping with the farmhouse look

Have a UV window film applied to the top arched portion. It looks clear but will block the heat and glare. That allows you to put whatever type of shade you prefer on the lower part of the window. A second option would be a drapery rod above the entire window, with drapery panels on the outer sides of the windows that you could pull fully closed when needed.

You can get paper blinds that open in a fan shape.
