Blue222q: thank you for the compliment on the kitchen! I made a mistake in my measurements because we went through a few modifications on the island and I wasn't reading the most recent modifications when I posted the measurements. The wood counters are 24 1/2 inches each, and the quartz is 78 1/2 inches, giving a total of 127 inches. I love the wood counters. I have a lot of counter space around the perimeter of my kitchen (which is the same quartz as the island) and it really needed something to break up all the white marble looking quartz. Plus I have grayish marble floor tiles. The wood adds warmth to it and I really like the 2 surfaces. I have only had it for a few weeks now but I absolutely am grateful my kitchen designer thought of the wood. It is raised a little above the quartz which I suggest as well. So the wood is not flush with the quartz, intentionally. I could have gone with a thicker wood but for every inch you add on a wood counter, the cost really goes up and I didn't think I really needed a thicker piece of wood. The quartz was put down first in the middle of the island and then the wood on the ends. So the wood is not sitting on top of the quartz. The guys that put in the quartz, ran white caulk(I think that is what it is) on the seam where the wood meets up with the quartz. You don't notice it at all. I'm assuming the wood counter is glued onto the cabinets in the island but I wasn't around when the wood was installed. The book match is good and I'm assuming the more pattern your quartz has, the more you can hide the seam. I don't have a lot of pattern and you do see a very slight line that runs horizontal in the middle of the quartz. You really don't notice it. I'll have to take more photos for you to see it.

HI raee_gw, yes, they said it's supposed to be gentle removal. They will take the sinks and faucets back to their factory so all major cutting is done away from my home. If they need to make some slight adjustments on site, they will do it outside on my driveway. I do have a lot of bottom drawers - I think I should cover them with something - maybe plastic wrap so no dust gets in he runners or drawers. Thanks. wags4fun - wow, that Sea Pearl quartzite is stunning - I hope you are thrilled with them once they are in place. Please post photos when they are done, I love to see gorgeous quartzites . And yes, good idea to remove the top drawers. I've been told that they measure and then go back to the shop and make my counters - then they come back to install and the plumber comes the next day. They told me they can't template the backsplash until the counter top is in, so that they come back a few days later to install. BTW, I love your name - you must have some happy dogs in your house? My3dogs - LOL, I'm glad you posted about your beadboard - I think I'll borrow that idea for the family bathroom which is next on my list. This is the only post I could find regarding Royal Reef Quartz. Do you think Royal Reef would go nicely with white cabinets (black hardware) and white subway tile. Our island is a color called Hale Navy. We have Maple light colored flooring. Most of our accents (stools, pendants) are a matte black and stainless. I’m worried the Royal will look too beige. The woman helping us with the quartz said the RR wouldn’t look beige that it would take on the color of the navy and white. I’m not convinced .... any advice? BTW your kitchen is beautiful! Seeing this in 2024 and that seam is TERRIBLE! Either the technology has completely improved or people saying it’s completely fine just have a very low standard. 😳I have never signed off a counter with seems like this, nor will I.
