I would definitely go again and for sure think that it is worth it! I think we had a total of three days to shop, and yes it was sort of overwhelming because we had a long list of things we were looking for and so felt a little under pressure. I really regret not going to NC sooner as we had been looking for two leather sofas for our family room for years and finally setteled for/ordered some that we saw in a furniture store about 45 min from us. Later, when we were down in NC and I saw the huge selection of leather sofas, so many to choose from, I was so disappointed that we didn't wait because we are disappointed with the sofas we had ordered as far as comfort goes. We really liked Boyles and Adams furniture. We also like the patio furniture selection at Furnitureland South. They also had a great selection of leather sofas(too late for us though). We bought 12 beautiful carved mahogany dining chairs at the Adams furniture outlet. Also, ordered a large square tufted ottoman. While in NC we went to 1502 fabrics and picked out our material and did the ottoman COM. 1502 has an amazing selection of fabrics. We picked out patio furniture at Furnitureland South and a few other small items. When I go back again someday, I will probably do most of my shopping at Boyles and Adams furniture, and spend some time at Furnitureland South, they have a great selction of fabrics in their design room, once you pick out furniture pieces. Don't feel like you have to finalize your order when you are down there. You can work with a designer and make your selections of fabrics and sytles, get all the style #s and information, think about things for a few days, and then come home and do all the final calling around for best pricing and pay from home witha credit card. Rose furniture acutally has the best prices on a lot of things but the problem is you have to pay the downpayment ahead with a check versus Boyles you can put your downpayment with a credit card and then if you have a problem you have you credit card company standing behind you. We actually did order from Rose and were counting on not having any problems, but then found a major structural defect with the item the day after delivery. With Rose you also have to pay for the item upon delivery with a cashier's check, so anyway things were a big hassle for a while and we were really stuck. What a hassle! Make sure when the item is delivered that you take ALOT of time to check EVERYTHING over. I will definitely go back again someday.

I don't necessarily agree with the poster above. If you were to purchase an item from a commonly sold brand such as lets say Basset, the item which is a know quality can be picked up by a white glove delivery service and shipped directly to your home. Some of the delivery services even provide deluxing. You may sacrifice some potential service for lets say a small scratch but on the other hand you may save hundreds of dollars. Actually today there is a pretty good network of nationwide repair companies that for the most part the delivery company or the retailer will pay for if you do need service and you are well protected by your CC. Look at the Furniture Repair Hotline for example for nationwide furniture repair referrals. Look at the success of Amazon and let me site you an example. I wanted a cable that would run from my laptop to my flat screen but I don't have the newest laptop and needed a special cable and I wanted a 25' cable. I went to Best Buy and Staples and they each had a 10 foot cable for around $50, not what I wanted. I went online and found the cable, the 25' foot one I wanted for around $10 and had it in 2 days delivered to my house and ordered in about 2 minutes. Buying online is not for everyone but if you are so inclined you can save a lot of money. In my experience today most of these purchase work out well or the companies don't stay in business. I see nothing wrong with trying Englishmen's interiors be they in Texas, Idaho or wherever they are. If you want to go local to a large retailer that is a customers prerogative. They both have benefits.

See what I mean? Notice no actual response to my comment, just a self-serving advertisement. How is that good customer service? It's completely dismissive of anything in the post to which is is supposedly "responding", and is nothing more than an attempt to protect itself. That is NOT "excellent customer service." It's the opposite, in fact. FYI: Listing brands you sell is irrelevant. You are the selling agent. That you sell Hickory Chair, a very good product, has nothing to do with whether you misrepresent products or are rude to customers or give them incorrect information (or are unaware, i.e.: NOT "knowledgeable salespeople"). For instance, CR Laine itself told me the Hamilton Cushion, recommended by your salesperson (and, by coincidence I'm sure, the most expensive cushion) was absolutely not the correct cushion for someone saying they want a firm and resilient cushion. So that was either lack of knowledge on your salesperson's part or misleading on her part to sell the more expensive cushion. And based on what I can see and feel of that cushion, I don't think it even is a spring down as I feel no evidence of any springs inside of it. I can practically squish the whole thing together with my hands! I was also told I should make sure of what I want (isn't that up to HER?) because once I got the sofa, I had no recourse if there were problems. But according to CR Laine, this is not true, that I can "file a claim". When I called to do so, I was literally chuckled at, interrupted, and hung up on. As I said, Hickory Park takes NO responsibility for misrepresenting or misinformation (neither does CR Laine, btw, who admitted the sofa is not at all represented by their official photo of it), dismisses customers with complaints or legitimate issues...by laughing at them, hanging up on them, and responding on Web sites by not directly responding to the issues but rather putting up an advertisement and simply saying they're wonderful. They're not. I've read other reviews (after I wrote mine) complaining of rude customer service as well, so I am not alone. Not taking responsibility for one's own mistakes is the epitome of bad business and behavior. But to do so AND allow the one party not at all responsible to take the hit, while YOU keep their money, is obscene. If this harsh criticism costs you even ONE customer, then maybe you'll realize that chuckling at customers who have called in good faith and have legitimate issues, and not taking responsibility for your own and the manufacturer's (for whom you are the representing sales agent) misrepresentations and problems, wasn't worth refunding a customer $1700, or even $1500 for the sofa w/o the shipping fee, and then writing the sofa off on your tax returns as a business loss. Sorry- I found it. I called to compare prices on two items- a Bradington Young sofa, and a Barcolounger chair. Same as Basista, less than Boyles. They carry some good brands- will keep site- thank you for letting us know- some, like me are new to ordering online...
