Standard Carpet question on New Construction/Build - HELP!

My husband and I are first time home buyers and currently building a new home in Orange County, CA. We've already put down a lot of money to do the vinyl plank upgrades in the main living areas, and have decided to stick with carpet in the bedrooms. The designer said that the standard carpets are Shaw brand, 100% Nylon, and that the carpets do not have any stain treatment. I have a couple of questions about that....Could we stain treat the carpet ourselves once we close escrow? Is it a bad idea to have non-treated carpets? Or could we just take the standard as is and upgrade the carpet ourselves a few years down the line?

This is the link to the standard carpet: https://shawbuilderflooringsf.com/flooring/carpet/details/union-terrace-hgr25/glacier-ice

Thanks!
