Comments (5)Thanks Weissman. I called many of the online vendors who claim to have it in stock & was told that in fact they could no longer get it. I even called Jennair- the very helpful rep made a couple calls to local large vendors in my area hoping they would have some stockpiled somewhere. One told me they could definitely get it for me. I went in spent half the morning , gave my credit card & was assured they could get it. Then yesterday get a "tail between the legs" call saying they were wrong & can't get it. My "issue" with the dispenser is two-fold, and honestly may be totally misplaced. If I'm crazy and it's a non-issue I'm happy to hear that. 1) Nearly all the models I have seen with dispenser, he dispenser is either black or white- neither would look great with my setup. I have only found one model, a Frigidaire, which has a stainless dispenser. All others have only black or white dispenser (which I don't like the look of). I worry about paying extra $ for panels for a Frigidaire when I'm not sure it has the longevity of the other brands. Care to weigh in on that aspect?. That leads to #2; 2) I'm afraid of investing the extra $ for custom panels and having the water from the dispenser leak, drip or otherwise damage the panels. Is this an unwarranted concern?; 3) I guess thee is a #3--I like the cleaner look of no dispenser on that side of the kitchen. I found that Kitchenaid makes a new frenchdoor model with no dispenser that looks like it would do, but it's more than $1k more expensive and does not come with handles so that's additional expense on top. Trying to do this for less than $3-4K or the cost of a built-in. Again, thanks for your insights!...See MoreARGH! (please read, I could use some help)
Comments (55)Well, I think it is sad that the world has come to this. All because of a bunch of ignornant people (nobody here) getting a breed they dont know a lick about, and dont give them what they need. I know Germany has a ban on many dog breeds including Dobies and German Shepherds...Sad, sad, sad. I know of incredibly responsible owers of dogs which are under the bully breeds and their dogs could not be more gentle and well behaved, and yet I know of dog owners who hae under 30 pound breeds (mostly accepted here in the apartment world) which are out of control yappy and aggressive towards any other animal or person. I know of a person who takes pitts out of the ring and works them into search and rescue dogs - this takes a tremendous amount of energy and dedication, and those dogs never go back to being aggressive towards anyone because they are now in the right environment with jobs to do and people to save. I had a heck of a time getting an apartment for my mastiff mix, i had to include a tremendous amount of paperwork including refs from my local humane society's behaviorist, It may be this is out of the managers hands due to insurance regluations. Tho I would ask if she might be willing to work with you on this. If so, I suggest your take your dog into a behaviorist to get it evaluated, and have the behaviorist write the management a letter. You never know what might work. I do think it is a shame there are biases towards these dogs, I also undrestand peoples concern. I know for a fact that many people in southern California bought bully breeds when the Night Stalker was on the prowl, they wanted cheap 24 hour protection - when the guy was caught, alot of people just opened up the gates to their yards and let their dogs (many with behavioral problems) go out to live for themselves in the street. I relaize this is a huge problem, but I fear for the future of these breeds deemed dangerous because they are not brought up in an environment where they get what they need. Any dog can turn viscious in an unhealthy environment or due to health problems...I dont like debating thsi because so many people are so passionate about this - for and against. I wish you luck in your search for a resolution with your dogs, and hope you can find someone or some place willing to work with you. Personally I think every dog should be evaluated on its personality, not its breed....See Moreargh...I need help with my master bedroom
Comments (7)I also love the linen/white look. Unlike you and ingrid, I love the look of long, flowing, white curtains in a bedroom... but I can see how they would be boring to some. I will be going with a similar look on my bed-- mostly ivory with either linen or pale blue/green accents and layers. I had planned to use bosporus flax fabric to make a duvet but I wasnt thrilled with the look of it on my bed. I threw it over a curtain rod and am currently loving the idea of it for panels. It is pale enough to be like a neutral but adds some interest to the white-linen color scheme. Bosporus Flax would be less flexible .. but there are other colorways in the bosporus toile pattern that should coordinate with lots of colors as accents. Just an idea...See MoreNinja Betic
