Benjamin Moore Classic Gray - too beige?
Comments (83)Without seeing the floors, it’s very hard to say, but somewhere in this post you can see my wood look tiles in my bathroom which are gray and it looks awesome. I would recommend getting a sample and putting it up in the basement. Since I assume there is very little natural light, the tone will largely depend on your lighting. If your flooring has a warm gray tone to it, it will probably look great. If it has a bluish cool gray tone to it, you’d have to see how it looks side by side. Hope this helps a little! Can’t believe this post is still going strong after so many years 😆...See MoreWhat color paint wall goes with crackled grey tile?
Comments (116)I did not read many posts. Did anyone comment that your tiles look like there is a lavender cast to them? I see that especially when you have it up against some of the greenish grays above, like the "Light Pewter". It is not the direction I would take the paint. If you go with blackish vanity be sure it is not a greenish black, but one with more purple in the undertones, IMHO. I think the navy with a bit on the reddish side would look nice, not a tealish navy, again IMHO. with the walls I'd try a very light, white rendition of the vanity color. I think it will need to have a hint of lavender....See MoreClassic Gray vs Shoji White - how to tone down warm kitchen cabinets
Comments (70)cdisimone - I have very similar color cabinets and granite in my kitchen except my backsplash is lighter and floors are very dark porcelain, wood look tile. I've been looking for a color that will work throughout the majority of my house too. After weeks of deliberating, I started with my dining room and painted Shoji White last night. Not sure I like it....it does not look warm or creamy in my house at all. It looks like a very light cool gray. :-( I was going more for a warm white so I can brighten things up but still have the warm, cozy feel. I'm going to give it a few days before continuing on through the rest of my house. My suggestion is to paint an entire wall or much larger sample on your wall before deciding!...See MoreWill Classic gray look more gray or beige with my granite?
Comments (7)You have posted before with pretty much the same dilemma. What did you decide for the trim? Your choices aren't working because of the natural light influence. You can't just pick a color from a sample and put it on the walls. And, no paintcolor is neutral because of the undertones. Classic gray has a fairly high LRV, making it an off white. However, the wrong natural light will make it appear pink/purple. That undertone will not work with the fireplace tile. The room doesn't look very bright and the dominant light is coming in the three windows and glass door. Consider this color instead of CG: I think it will work well with the fireplace. Try a sample by the fireplace and by the window trim. You may find you like the woodwork as is. If it is a go add a bit of this color into the scheme. I know monitors are very fickle with colors, but I think this rug is a winner with the tile and Natural Choice. Love the weave and how the background just hints at the vague blue tone in the tile. https://markandday.com/products/la-porte-traditional-cream-area-rug...See MoreRaeann
