Neighbors and Barking among other things.(really long, sorry!!)
Comments (27)Nicely tell her next time she has something to say that you would prefer to gain your advice from a professional and any futher comments can be forward to your attorney, And yes what she is doing is harassment, our ex-neighbors complained to our animal control officer that our dogs were left out all the time and were mean and that they kept trying to get under the fence. First thing is we are so over protective of our dogs that when they go out we go out with them. They were the most friendliest and loving dogs ,they loved people (except for DH one friend LOL).The animal controll officer had observed our house for awhile and after a few days came to do a home check. He was totally amazed that we even had dogs ,he said our yard was not the normal neighbor yard. There was no droppings left around and the yard was kept up very nice,he played with the dogs and said my neighbor was out of her mind.He had to go into her yard and check the fence to make sure that we had it supported enough and than he called the code enforcement officer out to issue my neighbor some fines for her trash cans not having lids and for all the trash in her yard.He also told us next time she harassed us to document it and take the documents to an attorney and file a harassment charge agianst her....See MoreShingles Vaccine?
Comments (26)azzalea- I talked this over with my family physician of 20 years and he got the vaccine and I trusted his advice to get it myself. You are doing yourself a disservice by reading anecdotal reports about this on the Internet, getting concerned, and trying to form conclusions from piecemeal info. In your first post you said: "how often do we hear 5-10-15 years down the road, "Well, we thought it was safe at the time, but we're finding...." Well I'm trying to think when in my lifetime I've ever heard this said about a vaccine that had been approved for widespread use on the population, and I can't come up with one instance. No vaccine is 100% effective, and no vaccine doesn't produce some occasional side effect, but I think your numbers about people having reactions are distorting your view. The potential side effects -- redness, pain, swelling, itching, warmth, or a rash at the site of the injection -- are very mild compared to what can happen if you get it. In my case, I had no reaction of any kind. I have had those side effects from my annual flu shot, but it doesn't make me stop getting it though. Sadly, our society has become suspicious of medicine, and vaccinations in particular, and disease rates for preventable diseases are climbing. All the paranoia about vaccinations causing autism -- which have been thoroughly debunked -- has led parents to hold off on vaccinations...with the result that many children are dying from things such as whooping cough. The Internet is a wonderful source of information, and also a horrible one, because everyone, qualified or not, has a soapbox. If you want to research shingles vaccine further, get your info from reliable web sites, like Mayo Clinic and the Centers for Disease Control. It's your choice whether to get the vaccine. The only thing I can say is that if you opt out, and later contract shingles, you're going to be kicking yourself. I've had friends get it and it lasted for many painful months, and left one of them with permanent damage....See MoreWouldn't this be amazing if it really works?? Antibody breakthrough
Comments (13)Another 'neutralizing' antibody discovery reported here: (This in addition to the STI-1499 antibody discovery reported in the article that always1stepbehind linked at the top of the thread.) https://newsroom.uw.edu/news/antibody-neutralizes-sars-and-covid-19-coronaviruses An antibody first identified in a blood sample from a patient who recovered from Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome in 2003 inhibits related coronaviruses, including the cause of COVID-19. The antibody, called S309, is now on a fast-track development and testing path at Vir Biotechnology in the next step toward possible clinical trials. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2349-y Antibody cocktails including S309 along with other antibodies identified here further enhanced SARS-CoV-2 neutralization and may limit the emergence of neutralization-escape mutants. These results pave the way for using S309- and S309-containing antibody cocktails for prophylaxis in individuals at high risk of exposure or as a post-exposure therapy to limit or treat severe disease. The interesting bits that I take away from the article is that this antibody was discovered in the blood of a SARS survivor who recovered 17 years ago. Two points--the antibody has hung around in the survivor's system for nearly two decades and appears to neutralize the Covid19 coronavirus..(in addition to SARS coronavirus)....See MoreWhy do you think some people are reluctant to take vaccine?
Comments (55)"That's easy it is an as yet not totally recommended by the AMA, medicine." This is a bit of a non-sequitur. As far as any individual is concerned, the experts that matter are those who are now unmuzzled at the CDC and NIH and able to speak the truth. Listen to their recommendations and follow them, they're all like-minded in recommending the immunizations for everyone. If in doubt, ask your doctor, you'll hear the same story. . I have a number of healthcare providers in my family and all were very glad to be in the first tier for the vaccine so that they could feel more comfortable providing care to their patients among the general public. As the old saying goes, people vote with their feet. If physicians were happy to be given priority (and rightfully so), what more is there to know?...See Moremaifleur03
