“Asbestos-like materials” on air cans between ducting and vents

Hi all - buying a home (built late 1950s, remodeled), and during inspection the inspector found that the HVAC ducting was pretty new, but that the air cans connecting this new ducting to the vents in the home appear to be made of an asbestos-like material. His guess was that they replaced the ducting but their HVAC person was unwilling/unlicensed to replace those asbestos parts.

He said it isn’t dangerous if it’s not disturbed, but I still find it disturbing and I want it out of my new house. It’s on every vent going into the home.

The AC and furnace are about 20 years old so probably need replacing soon anyway. If this was your house, would you try to get your HVAC person to replace these parts when installing a new system?

Pics attached. Thanks!
