Sadly the builder is refusing to change them and are looking into options as far as possibly “altering“ it to make it look more connected. The cost of the countertops is less than 1 % of the purchase price but to us it was the most expensive option we put in and is such a big part of our home. Very disappointing.

If it helps, yours don't look BAD, they just look different from the model homes where they really did put out the effort to make things match better. I'm not sure the model home's look better though. The bookmatching accentuates the seam on those.

Thank you, Fori. It helps to have an alternative perspective. Especially since we may have to live with it. I am disappointed with the builders effort to step up and fix something that they probably would not have accepted in their model homes or in their own homes.

Some builders use different quality materials and better trades to construct their model homes than is typical in the homes they produce. As a result, you can't infer the quality level you'll get in your home from what you see in their model home.

Lol! Yes that’s what I was thinking. I am definitely going to write a review and try to find out the name of the contractor for the countertops as well.

Perhaps you could convince them to fix the most egregious errors instead of everything? That disjoint in the major vein would make me crazy!

Your backsplash just fixed the counter edge problem. No body is ever going to notice the counter edges as long as that mismatched splash is in the room.

Agree with ci_liantro...while the counters aren't perfect, the backsplash is particularly egregious. It infuriates me how builders simply do not stand behind their product knowing that most of us don't have the energy to pursue them in court. I hope you can get them to replace the backsplash because that's just not right.

I'm really disappointed for you since the veins could have been matched. I would post the pictures on the builders social feeds with a statement that they do not vein match upgrades although it's what they showcase in their model homes. It's misleading and I hope they replace them. Good luck!

Great news! The builders are giving us a credit split between themselves and the counter people.
