WWYD Ugh need suggestions
Comments (55)Mtn, maybe I misunderstand, but regardless of whether you involve your insurance, won’t the repair show up in the car’s maintenance history anyway, especially since you are taking it to the dealer? Editing to add that I sometimes miss the old cars with the big hard rubber bumpers. I was rear ended on 95 in CT almost 30 years ago by a car that slammed into me when it failed to stop in time in stopped traffic. A cop happened to be on the shoulder where he had pulled someone over so he motioned for us to pull off on the shoulder. My car didn’t so much as have a scratch on it, even tho he hit me going at least 20mph. I can’t even imagine what the damage would have been on a car in today’s market - I see these type of fender benders almost daily, sadly, due to driver in attention in stop and go traffic on the highway. Usually, the cars aren’t even going fast but still sustain a crazy amount of damage. One day the three cars directly in front of me all hit each other (as much as I can, I always leave room in front of me to avoid this, but am always worried about the person behind me!)....See MoreGetting your hair done during Covid
Comments (39)wildchild2x2, I'm with you with our warlock. He can't close anything down though. During the first shutdown all he kept saying was the "science says". Ok show us the science. Some county representatives took him to court and the liar didn't have any proof of science. He lost the case. He still can designate the number of people allowed in a business (not that many business or people are paying attention to him), but that is it. His old rules still apply, but there is always ways around it. Like if you drink you have to have a meal. Like covid knows when your drinking alcohol or not. So bars just put some hotdogs on a paper plate on the tables. It doesn't mater that that hot dog has been sitting there for 8 hours. It's food and it is on the table....See MoreThe Covid Vaccine
Comments (36)I've had an opportunity to hear the senior people at NIH, CDC, and NIAID speak to the board of my organization. Please people, talk to your doctors before you consider opting out of the vaccine - there may be some people who are well advised to wait, but please don't jump to that conclusion based on something you've seen on TV or social media. The vaccines have gone through a wider and more rigorous testing process than most medications - simply because this happened more quickly than usual does not mean that corners were cut, just the opposite. We are so incredibly lucky that these first vaccines have such a high degree of efficacy, but if there is widespread hesitancy (or worse, belief in conspiracy theories) the herd immunity we are all desperately waiting for in order to get back to "normal life" will be much longer and more painful in arriving. There's so much misinformation (and disinformation, deliberately misrepresentations) out there; make sure you're making decisions based on informed medical advice. Fwiw my kids have penicillin allergies and I don't believe that's a risk factor with these vaccines (our pediatrician has told us that most penicillin allergies are actually reactions to the dye used, not to the medicine itself.) Finally the use of Walgreens and CVS to distribute the vaccine is a deliberate choice - apparently some huge percentage of Americans live within 5 miles of one of these chain pharmacies. This is all part of the strategy to ensure that the vaccines can be made available to as many people as quickly as possible....See MoreEqual Parts Vent & WWYD - Medical
