How much time do you spend in the yard/garden every day?
Comments (28)Same for me, as much as possible. I still work full time too, but I retired in '06 from the Navy reserve, so at least now I have my weekends. I go out in the mornings and walk around the garden to look at everything while I drink my coffee. In the afternoons, I get outside as quickly as possible so that I'm really dirty by the time DH gets home. I know that if I look really scroungy and sweaty he won't ask me to make dinner. And of course, housecleaning, laundry and dishes are out of the question too. So I'd say about 4-5 hours on the weekdays, 10-12 hours on weekends. I confess, I hired an electrician to run a wire out to the potting shed and install a light and some outlets so I can stay out after dark. I also had electricity run to the greenhouse for the heater and swamp cooler and have 6 extra outlets in there too. I have everything out there now but a KITCHEN and who needs one of those??????!!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH......... Cheryl...See MoreYou know you are thinking too much about kitchens when...
Comments (35)Probably they used light countertops in the ad because of the contrast with the black costume and to give an overall light/optimistic "feel." I am not a design or marketing person at all but (after several viewings) I can see how carefully the ad was constructed. You all do notice that it's a GIRL'S bedroom, right? Love it. OK, I admit, I didn't really notice the countertops until the second viewing. But still. LOL at all those TV kitchens. The "pre-reno" ones are still pretty nice compared to a lot of real life ones! (Including mine.) I bet all that color in them (walls, cabs etc) is for a reason. If I knew anything about design I'd know what the reason is......See MoreCan you spend too much time interacting w/ your children?
Comments (54)They are much safer in a stroller. Some people use those baby leashes, but that would be much harder with two of them running in different directions. I agree that they are too young to toilet train - and it's not like you could let them go to the bathroom unsupervised anyway, unless you wanted to fish toy trucks out of the toilet. Is there any reason to think that they may have any mild developmental or speech delays? Your town should have screenings for anyone at risk - and merely being a multiple would be considered at risk most places. The preschooler of someone in my town was able to go to a special needs/integrated preschool, and I think the basis for that was not a disability but rather because his father had died, leaving his wife with three kids under 4 and one on the way. I think the little boy was considered socially at risk. My daughter attended the same preschool, due to her language delays, and it was a good experience for her. Door-to-door transportation, in a van with car seats and seat belts, was provided....See MoreYou know you have spent too much time on GWeb...
Comments (26)I have been on this forum for 15 years. I have been through four kitchen remodels/builds and through six houses since. I think so many things make me think of GW. I can be talking to my husband about something and I will say "my friend from GW said blah blah blah.... " I he probably thinks I am crazy! I use so many expressions I have learned here and no one knows what the heck I am talking about. Seeing that book gave me a great chuckle! I miss Pal! Oh and I love the frogs!!!...See Morerobo (z6a)
