Regan Nursery offers a good selection of 36" standards. Seems you'll need to select "36" standard rose tree" under Rose Class AND "36" Tree" under Type to search them. Many mail order nurseries offer some 36" standards, but a short search of those familiar to me showed Regan with the most varieties. These would be sent bare root next Spring. Perhaps a local nursery would be willing to order from their suppliers for you for Spring delivery. Believe these would need heavy protection to overwinter in your zone. possibly best garage kept. I think there's lots of confusion about that "hardy hibiscus" moniker that going around in the plant trade nowdays. It seems that rose of sharons , which are related to tropical hibiscus and in the same "mallow" family were called Athea for many years, but recently are called Hibiscus , so there's much more confusing the "hardy" Rose of Sharons, with the tropical hibiscuses. with some growers confusing the names even more by calling the rose of sharons , hardy hibiscus now. I guess , unless you can pin the growers down to say, what they're actually selling, that problem will remain. Sometimes the whole question of hardiness is even more confused , when sub-tropical growers talk about "hardy" plants, when they by no means mean "cold hardy". Some plants will tollerate windy conditions , hot locations , and some drought and for the sub-tropics , those are hardy traits that don't fall into the same category as "cold hardiness".

Hi, I was enjoying a persimmon tree because of its beautiful leaves and unusual fruits but as the fruits developed, I had visitors. Found out that rats in the suburbs love fruit, too. Oh, and possums. We put out traps and caught plenty of each. The tree is gone. I didn't like the rustling noises that came from across the yard as I weeded. Our yard is tiny, however. The city advised us that the rats, though seldom seen any other time, live under decks. The neighbors all keep the alley pretty clean so it is not like rubbish in stacked up five feet tall, either. Yuk. A dog would take care of the problem, I am sure.

@flowersaremusic z5 Eastern WA i think this one has too many petals to be Bow Bells. I counted about 40 petals and HMF says Bow Bells has 16-25 with mild fragrance. The myster rose has a strong fragrance. the growth habitat of the three stems was straight and ridged. Lots of thorns. It so hard to find information on any Austins which are no longer in commerce. @seasiderooftop Google Lens is so cool! thanks for the introduction. i researched the roses it matched but none seemed to be a fit based on fragrance and petal count. Is Scepte’d Isle out? i thought it was a good guess??
