Dormer window replacement

Amy

We need to replace the dormer windows on our second story, which are original to the home and in terrible condition (and nonfunctional). We have no idea what to replace them with and would greatly appreciate any ideas.

There are seven windows, each with two wood french doors that open out. What do you think about replacing these with just one piece of glass for each of the seven windows? Also, what should the grilles look like (I assume white), and what direction should the windows open? (door vs. awning).

In the interior, there are shutters, which we will likely keep (but are not wedded to).

Will take any/all suggestions - thank you!
