Oh my..........just when shoes got cute again, they're gonna mess it up? I remember the platform soles. I wore them back in the seventies, and I think my g'daughter had a pair when she was six or seven a few years ago. No way do they ever make the legs look good. They remind me of the shoes Frankenstein wore in the classic version. Or the built up one in the pair of shoes for people with severe orthopaedic problems. Don't even get me started on clothing prices. I replaced my whole winter wardrobe this year for the first time in three decades. I'm not kidding. LOL. I waited until the huge markdowns in January and just did it. I picked clothes I really like, for a change and didn't even look at prices (not like me at all), and when I got them home...those what were on sale were marked down to a quarter of their original cost. That tells me that is what a store could afford to sell these garments at. And, a more logical price would be 50% of the original tag. I suppose the department stores figure that most people wait until a sales event to buy, and even at 1/4 off the original price they're still making out like Flynn, and the word "Sale" will bring people in. Then they guess a few folks are naive enough to just go in and pay full price, or must in a pinch, or just are afraid the store shall be out of an item by sales time. Clothing is now like a car lot. Nobody expects to pay the sticker price. What a drag.

Well, yesterday I went to a rose nursery and by their calculations I can fit more roses in my bed by staggering the plantings into two rows. Plus, I fell in love with a few. So I have bought and/or ordered the following: -Duchesse de Brabant (I stopped my car when I saw one while driving and found out what it was, and it was still calling my name when I found it at the nursery; I'll just have to be diligent about keeping her size checked) -Monsieur Tillier -Buff Beauty -Cl. Cramoisi Superieur -Souvenir de la Malmaison -Pink Gruss an Aachen -Belinda's Dream -free rooted rose cuttings of Crepuscule I've put a last-minute request to RU to add Rosette Delizy to my order though I don't know yet if they'll be able to get it to me or not. And I just saw on a different thread that Vintage is offering the apricot climber Mme Jules Gravereaux so that might be added in too. Ah, the joys of enabling! More colors, and roses then I anticipated! But I'm sure I'll be over the moon when they start blooming... And by the way, I believe Soleil d'Or is the notorious baller.

Found a pair of sandals that feel great, look cute and have ankle straps and rubbery soles ...at of all places....Sears!! Hope they wear okay and continue to feel good. Worth a try. Also got a cute navy and white striped sweater, and two pair of Levi's jeans which I really needed! Got "tissue tees" for 30% off at Talbots in Spring colors of orchid, spring green and periwinkle blue. Got a paisley print handbag featuring bright spring colors (pinks, greens, blues) and a solid periwinkle blue one too, both at really great sale prices at Kohls. Also got the free tote and free body lotion in the new, yet to be released Country fragrance at B&BW. Productive day!

Got my Sebright order last Saturday. The packing is wonderful--it took 6 days to get to my house Oregon to Ohio but Sebright paid for 2 day priority mail. Luckily, they were still hydrated and in great shape. I got Color Festival, Cameo, Slim and Trim, Full Frontal, Gemstone, and Clown Collar. Now that I see your Tijuana Brass, I am debating getting that versus Tom Terrific, hmm. I don't have room for both. I think that you will like Blue Shadows, I got it last year and so far it's looking good. My Warwick Comet is not doing well since it competes with tree roots, it needs to be moved and perhaps it needs another one to keep it company in a pot? lol.
