Comments (4)I hope this link works, Mudlady.. I'll test it before I leave this forum. But...if it doesn't...enter the "Kindle+Fire+for+Dummies" into any one of your search engines [i.e. Google, duckduck, Bing] and it should bring up a long list of "Dummy" books to assist you with the operation of your new Kindle. Additionally...there are a myriad of Dummy books explicitly for computers and their operation. To that...let me add...that you're doing far better...and are braver than me. :-) I don't own a Kindle [or any similar product] and my cell phone is still the flip up kind. I'm loosing my sight to macular degeneration and over the next several years...it's anyone's guess as to what, if anything I may be able to see/operate. But I do have your determination so I forge on...undaunted. Good luck with your latest project. Comments (8)Many, many moons ago I allowed this method. I had a new desk top and it wasn't responding the way it should. I allowed the private builder to have access and he repaired the problem. Yes. It is safe if you know the reliability/honesty of the person you're allowing access to your system. It's often done by system builders [MS or HP] when nothing else will work. I've also allowed my ISP to repair damage they caused via this method when I first accessed the internet years ago. Do I recommend it? Sure. As long as you feel comfortable with the person you're giving the access to. It alleviates a lot of hassle/problems of moving a system. If you have a personal recommendation...that's even better. You might have to give the person your password[s] to enter your system...and after the repair is completed...I've always changed passwords...whether I had to give them out or not. It's just a private precaution but one I strongly recommend it....See MoreComputer help someone please
Comments (17)Thanks for pointing out the Ctrl-Shft-Del hotkey sequence, that's useful. I think everyone should have their browsers set to clear browsing history and all other data when closing. Doing so can prevent SO MANY problems of misbehavior but if not, this key sequence can be used. I try to not suggest corrective steps (with anything) before having some sense of what the problem is. The press and the internet world have so sensationalized random passing security issues that too many think that any PC misbehavior is automatically from a virus or malware. It's usually not the case. Malwarebytes is a fine product. I think it's more efficient to do other things so that its regular use is unnecessary. Better to use tools to prevent issues in the first place than to have an arsenal ready to handle avoidable problems....See MoreAt garden site is there still a computer help section
Comments (1)One of my many questions would be how do I upload my music CD to my computer using Nero 11 software? I thought I would burn a copy of one of my favorite CDS I created some years back. I can't even figure this out. I have made and burned a lot of CDs. Another of my many questions would be how do I get my favorite fonts that I have paid for or gotten free over the years installed. None of my favorite non Windows fonts installed on this new computer. I have searched and followed many instructions. Including finding where to drag and drop them. The computer says they are installed when I try to drop and drag them to the font list. They do not come up in my font list. Is there a place to go to for help?...See MoreJudy
