Bathroom Decor Help! Where Do I Place Artwork or Mirror
Comments (3)I would look for art that is large and squarish for just over the tub portion. Then i would find a shelf or two of some kind to go over the toilet. not an ugly cabinet, but something that will fill the space but not compete with the art. Comments (6)So, what speaks to you? Look for that. Don't buy online; buy from local artists. Don't rush into it; you'll know it when you see it. Make the search part of your recreation time. This is your home. The worst thing you can do is put up something that's more suited to a dentist's office just to fill space. You don't want mediocre, commercial, non-descript stuff. What you hang there should speak about you and your family. And no mirror unless it reflects something worth looking at....See MoreNeed ideas for artwork on my asian wallpaper
Comments (8)I only buy art that I love or that illicits a strong reaction in me, and I always frame it in a way that makes the art look its best, with no thought of which room it might go in. But when hanging pieces in my home there are probably some reasons I put this piece in this room...a similar color to something already there, another piece hanging that this one looks good near or because it’s the exact opposite of everything else. A little tension can really ignite a room. With all that said, something modern, abstract in a very simple frame would be a nice balance to the traditional paper. You could even tease it a little with a bamboo frame....See MoreI don’t know if art work or a mirror is better on the buffet wall ?
Comments (13)I agree that the rug is much too small as well as dark. The tones are taking away from the distinct table base and the coordinating chair legs. As an admitted minimalist, I'd have no rug there or one that's the same color as the floor but textural. The floors are beautiful. Given the many hard reflective surfaces, I think a mirror would be too much and would prefer a textural art piece. The height can't be greater than what's there now due to the vent. Although I really like the candlestick lamps below, it may look cluttered due to the glass cabinet close to the sideboard....See Morethreers
