I would try another full height, shallow depth pantry cabinet, rotated 90 degrees to it backed into the other pantry cabinet. Same thing with shallow bookshelves and with angled corner shelves. Also maybe try two full height, single door pantry cabinets or slightly smaller full height pantry cabinets with wine bottle cubbies between them on one side of the ref. It's really hard to tell aisle and such from a perspective drawing - they can be really misleading. So take this will a little salt. It looks like you have about a three foot aisle between the fronts of the pantries and the peninsula. Even if you get a counter depth ref, it will still come out into the aisle about six inches including the doors and the handles. Plus another inch or two will go to adding decorative panels on the end of the peninsula cabinets and the countertop overhang. So you're aisle may turn out to be more like 28" there. Can the ref be maneuvered into or out of its place without removing the peninsula? Can you open the freezer completely? Are you ok with having to close the freezer door, walk by it and re-open to reach something on the other side?

@Yardvaark. Thank you. I never even thought of arranging the trees like this. I think this will be beautiful. I'd have to transplant the Japanese maple, and maybe one of my burning bushes. I cannot make the front (left of the bed any wider due to the fence gate, but I am going to widen the straight stretch to 6 feet and I am going to extend the flower bed so it curves around the garden shed. The front of the bed is large enough that If I remove the maple I'll be able to arrange Serviceberry as shown in your drawing.

If the area rug is protecting the floor right now keep it there but otherwise I would take away so you can see the space without distractions and play around with furniture arrangments. If you haven't got them already, get several tape measures so you always have one handy and a good supply of blue painter's tape so you can mark out places on the floor where you think furniture you want will go best. Collect some pictures of room styles you like -- simple or plush, colorful or earth-tone. If you have kids or pets there is loads of indestructible attractive safe furniture in all styles. Ultimately you want a room that is going to get used because it is pleasantly arranged to serve what you like to do best when you're home. I've never had a house where I didn't have a chaise lounge by a window and maybe you want a bookcase, or a music set up or a dream desk or a great place to hang out and drink wine --- none of it has to break the bank and you can make just about any style work.
