Should I do a plant wall in place of a tv?
Comments (1)Plant walls aren't the easiest things to keep green and growing. Be sure of your dedication to something like that before you spend the money. They aren't cheap. They are really cool though....See Morehow to place TV and furniture in this family room w corner fire place?
Comments (1)A sectional probably isn't the best bet for this layout. Keep the TV on that wall, but get a lower console (and a wider one should be 25-50% longer than TV). A sofa and two chairs would all for better traffic paths and feel more open....See MoreHow to avoid placing the TV above dinning table in this room? Help!!
Comments (31)I like the banquette ideas from DecoEnthusiaste, above. If you put comfortable banquette seating under the windows, put the TV on the wall perpendicular to the slider, and get an adjustable height table that can be switched from coffee table to dining height, it might work. But very expensive if you’re going to go custom. How many people in your family? Is there any way to make that room just a seating area/tv but build table height counter seating under the bar counter for eating? Here’s an example:...See MoreHow do I style under a wall mounted TV and in deep window sills?
Comments (26)I like the piece of art you have in the dining area of the last photo. I think maybe we should retreat to your original dilemma which was about how to display all your stuff. As before, I still suggest you divvy it up so it isn't all vying for our attention. Do you have storage bins under your bed? That's always a good idea for storing excess. Most of the decor items seem to be white ceramic and a few gold/brass pieces. If you want to utilize the window space, I would limit it to the two upper windows that appear as though they have shelves built in. The twisted gold piece and your other twisted white ceramic piece are both large enough to be seen well from those two locations. Separate hard and soft cover books. If you have enough hard covers to do the job, start with the tallest ones that will fit in the long cabinet openings and supplement with shorter ones. If you can manage to do all hard covers, that is a better choice than soft covers, but you can mix both if you have to. Can you get a 3rd bookshelf for the dining side of the column and style it in a similar fashion to the other ones?...See MoreLee Ann McMaster
