Oh dear....I've seen the Silestone Calacatta Gold in person and thought it was beautiful and it is something I have in mind for my own kitchen when I have the budget to replace it.

Is the colour better in natural light? If you changed your light bulbs to something less bright white, do you think that would help?

Some commenters in the past have complained that the gold is not overly visible in some slabs and feel that the pattern changed from what it was originally with more prominent gold veining. I've never seen any complaints about lack of veining at all though.

Unfortunately, you're likely going to get a lot of comments along the line of "did you not see/inspect your slabs before they were fabricated?" "You should have checked your slabs and not relied upon samples or displays".

It really is a shame when the finished product doesn't turn out as you'd hoped or expected from a sample.

Try to work with the fabricator to see if anything can be done. It is certainly worth asking but unless there are obvious flaws in the material or the installation I think you may be out of luck with getting them replaced. You can also try contacting Silestone directly and ask to speak to someone in their customer service.

@Indecisiveness my condo kitchen does not have a window. It looks the same day or night. new LED ceiling lights are set at 3k and on a dimmer. at 2.7k things looked yellower. veins hard to see with or without under cabinet lights being on or off.

The kitchen company is also the fabricator, I did so much research before choosing Silestone CG ETERNAL and had other samples here. many had a darker white background that would have looked dirty next to the cabinets. my family came today and thought I had all white. will contact them Monday.

Seriously, it really looks like marble but it's much better because it's Silestone. It's very common with major purchases like this to freak out when we first see it. I do it every time. Live with it for a couple weeks and you'll realize how gorgeous it is.

The showroom was pretty bright no? They should have let you take a sample home. Have you reached out to them? Maybe they will offer you a discount, but I doubt they will rip it out and provide another option for free.

Looks really good to me. I bought CG because it was so subtle. How are you feeling about it now that it's been in for a while?

i have grown to like it but still wish gray veins were more visible for contrast and interest. The full backsplash was the splurge.

i was given a good discount at final payment. was told parts of slab they cut can have less veining and have more white. Each brands slabs (color & pattern) of quartz are the same but NOT where they CUT. i should have looked at slab and pointed out what to use for backsplash. thank you all for being supportive and making me feel better! all the best!

Im really dissapointed with my silestone CG as well my veins are barely visable. i opted for suede finish and regret not getting polish if i could do it again, i wouldn’t get CG.

@blueberry4 ETERNAL is silestones only Calcutta gold. they have a Classic Calacatta too.
