Hi I finally got my key a couple of days ago. So yes the plan I posted is a mirror image. I forgot that there is a door to the closet. I wonder if I close up the door, and move the door next to the toilet bowl, and remove the door for the toilet bowl, if that will work. But it might be weird to have the entrance to the closet next to the toilet. I got some better measurements. The length of the tub is 62". But there is 2 inches of wall on one side of the tub, which I think is hollow. I don't know why it isn't flush with the wall where the doors to the closet and toilet are. The width of the tub from the wall backing is 41". From that same wall to the side of the vanity is 58". To the side of the cabinet is 59". I am tempted now to put a 59" x 32" tub (or maybe a 60"!?) next to the vanity (along the same wall), and I will have 32" to work with for a wall in shower on the doors side? Or any suggestion would be good. Few days ago, I came up with this: From forums But I think this is going to cost big time, involing moving the toilet, and half of the vanity, redoing the floor, wall,etc. And I don't know if the entrance to the closet would be too small (3 feet). By the way, I don't know how the DWV plumbing is run. Any thing I need to look for?

How about TEC XT? Comes in both Sanded and Unsanded versions (for most colors), and is supposed to be more stain resistant and mold and mildew resistant than other cement-based grouts. It does require a longer cure time 7-10 days before getting wet or sealing (doesn't need to be sealed, but can be, with a solvent-based sealer, which we did when we sealed the marble and trav tile in both bathrooms). I sealed it in the MB at 7 days because I needed that bathroom functional "now" LOL. It also requires a drier clean-up (just wring sponge out well when wiping off excess grout, according to the rep with whom I spoke during my grout "research"--there's a video you can watch, too). It's a little stickier than the reg TEC grout, so you might need a bit more elbow grease to remove grout haze, but that's about it. We used the Bright White for the field tile in both upstairs baths (used the reg TEC in Bright White for our kitchen and guest bathroom since the XT either wasn't around then or we just didn't know about it at the time). We used both the Sanded and the Unsanded. The Unsanded is a bit whiter than the Sanded (because the sanded has actual grains of sand, which I'm sure you know), but both seem white enough. We used a very glossy, very white, Porcelanosa large format tile in the MB. Our grout lines are very tight, except for the White Thassos mosaic/border (which came pre-mounted on mesh), and the Unsanded worked very well. We also used it (in Almond) with the split faced trav mosaic in the hall bath which had practically non-existent grout lines in spots. Of course, when I say "we" used any of these products, I mean our wonderful tile guys used them for us!

Chris, portable dishwashers do not sit on the counter. They can be as big as regular dishwashers, though usually they are smaller. You keep it somewhere in your kitchen or perhaps adjacent laundry room and when you're ready to do dishes you roll it over to the kitchen sink and hook up the hose to the faucet. Look online on the Sears appliances site; they have several models. You're thinking of countertop dishwashers, which I think Sears might carry too. They aren't too "portable" because they're heavy. My family's first dishwasher, when I was 11 or 12, was a portable. agmss15, if I were you, I'd go with the new Amana. I had a portable for two years when I lived in Mexico and I hated it. For one thing, when the machine is in use, you obviously cannot use your kitchen sink/faucet for anything else. Second, since the dirty water then goes down your kitchen sink drain, if your drain gets at all clogged, the dirty water backs up and you have a mess. If it all goes fine, you are still left with a dirty sink full of residue that you have to clean. Third, a couple of times the drain hose somehow got out of the sink and water went everywhere! You cannot leave your house when you're washing because if something goes wrong, you could come home to a flood and a lot of damage. I'd go with the mini Amana because a) while it's a new model, it's still a washing machine and Amana has been making them for decades. b) Amana is a well known and trusted brand with good customer service. c) who knows what you're getting with second hand? Yeah, you'll have to wait a couple of months, but in my opinion it will be worth the wait, because you'll save yourself tons of hassle over dealing with a used portable. I'd check online with the big box stores to see if you can get a better price over the local appliance store. Just my two cents'. :-)

We are nearing the end of our recent kitchen remodel and found that what worked for us a empty nest couple was to set up a temporary kitchen and eating space in our nearby dining room. We used our ninja Foodi constantly, which is a great appliance that you can use to air fry, pressure cook, and even sauté, roast and bake. For two people it worked well for most dinners. There are lots of great recipes online that can help maximize its use. I made tacos using the sauté function to brown ground beef or chicken, then pushed the meat to one side to make room to heat a can of refried beans. We took leftovers to work for lunch where we both have access to microwaves. I do wish we’d been able to have use of a small microwave, but I didn’t want to spend money on something we’d need for only a month. Friendly neighbor allowed me to pop across the street to heat things quickly a time or two. I also used the Foodi to pressure cook hard boiled eggs, cook a pound of bacon for BLTs, make “magic” spaghetti that requires no boiling of pasta, etc. I knew before we remodeled that the Foodi was a workhorse but found during our project that it was invaluable! We kept our toaster handy and used that for BLTS, warming tostada shells and well, toast. Clean up was as much a challenge as cooking. I bought three cheap plastic dishpans and set up a station on our BBQ prep table, located right next to a hose bib. We also have an outlet nearby that we used to power a work light as well as an electric kettle. I cannot tell you how much I loved having that electric kettle to heat water for not only cooking things, but also the cleaning up! Washed items in one dishpan, used a second one to set soapy dishes in to later rinse well with the hose, then poured a final rinse of hot water from the kettle to help things dry more quickly. It worked pretty well. We also tried to wipe off plates and bowls as well as we could. Greasy things were not fun. Pic of our dishwashing area. Good luck with your project!
