Walk-in floor : heated floor?

Hi,

We're mid renovations and need to decide the flooring for our walk-in closet. Our bedroom is set up so that you walk by the walk-in to get to the bathroom (the walk-in is open to the small hall between the bedroom and bathroom so that it feels like one space).

We have engineered wood in the bedroom and heated tiles in the bathroom, and we can't decide which type of flooring to use for the hall/walk-in.

We prefer the look of the engineered wood for the hall/walk-in, but I really like the idea of warm floors when getting dressed (yay Canadian winters). Our options are:

- heated tile (same as bathroom) for comfort

- engineered wood (same as bedroom) for looks

- heating the engineered wood as an ideal solution (or too good to be true?)

Our contractor is telling us that we won't feel the temperature difference between the wood floor and the heated tile, and even less if we heat the wood.

So my questions are:

Can you feel a difference between heated tile and wood flooring?

Can you feel a difference heating engineered wood?
