Farm sink - how do I dry my dishes without getting my floor soaked?

We just bought our first house, and the kitchen has a lovely farm sink. In my defense, I never even knew they were a thing until now, so this is my first exposure to one. All my past sinks were lower than the countertop, so I simply used a drain rack and mat on the countertop and had it drain directly into the sink with no issues.

Since this farm sink has a lip over the countertop, I can't get my drain rack to properly drain into the sink. Instead, it drips down along the side and winds up on the wood floor, leaving a puddle every single time I do dishes. We do a lot of handwashing, so this is becoming a problem.

I've seen people use dish towels or drying mats, but I just don't like them. I hate the idea of a soggy wet mat sitting on the countertop. Is there any way to make my drying rack work? Or are there other alternative drying methods I'm not aware of?
