Home Decorating Design Dilemma living room

Kitchen/Living Room Open Concept Help

We are in the process of remodeling our main floor (kitchen/dining room/living room) My cabinets are Distant Grey, flooring is LVP Burnt Umber and Granite is Grey Typhoon. I need to purchase new living room furniture and have no idea how to make this all flow. The living room area is not very big and I'm leaning towards a grey sofa and two accept chairs. Any advice would be wonderful on style/colour and paint colour as well. Below is my inspirational photo then my kitchen/living room layout. Thank you

Functionality wise I’d consider a sectional and a console with the tv on it. That wall with the couch jutting out for me, isn’t the right spot. Other than that If that’s your favorite inspiration. Go for it. Easy!

I will look to see if I have a floor plan, but if not, how would i go about creating one for you. I know I sound like an idiot but obviously I am clueless as to this kind of stuff and wish my husband would just let me hire a decorator lol! However, he just now gave me another big fat NO to hiring one lol! So needless to say, I am going to have to learn how to do this on my own and asking for help, however annoying I may be, is the only thing I know to do! So I apologize in advance for my ignorance! Congratulations on your new home. Don't purchase anything until you've moved in and lived there for a bit. That will help you evaluate how you use the rooms. I, too, would want to get rid of the blue walls. Go with a neutral color such as: Edgecomb gray is a beautiful earthy gray with beige undertones. Ballet white is the perfect color if you want to go super neutral without going completely white. Balboa mist is a very soft and neutral gray. I would also try the TV on the wall where the console table is in the picture. It looks like the FP is too high for a TV.

it is a little awkward with the 2 flooring. I think I would look for something that is taller ( just below the light switch) but narrow so that it can be totally on the carpet but right up to the hardwood with art above

Thank you both! Jennifer, I just uploaded a floor plan for the area. It looks like the living room is 15x18. My husband and I were already considering putting a sectional along the left wall as you described, so I'm glad you see that as a good option, too! Beverly, I like your layout of the living area! Is there a reason for the rounded table vs. a rectangular table? I assumed a rectangular table would look better, so just curious. Thank you again for your suggestions!

I think I’d be tempted to lose one the lounge chair at the bottom left, swing the sofa and coffee table 90 degrees anti-clockwise, relocate the lounge chair at the top left to the position vacated by the sofa, then get a dining table with seating for six. Just a suggestion.

Thank you both so much. I really like Tony’s idea but my front picture window is where you think the couch should be. Will that still work?
