How to Make a short table for playing cards in the pool?
Comments (12)Mmmmm...Margaritas sound good! I have always said where there's a will there's a way, I think you are on track to make something very cool for your pool! I have amazed myself at the things I can do when I set my mind to it (many times encouraged by someone telling me it can't be done) My first concrete adventure: In second grade, I decided our secret fort in the woods needed a swimming pool, so we stock piled soda cans filled with water in the fort, we dug a fairly big hole with play shovels, and I convinced my babysitter that I had to bring a bag of concrete mix to school for a project, she helped me set it against the side of the building and I almost got away with the plan, but I was caught dragging the bag across the playground at recess and I guess the powers that be didn't really think a pool in the woods was a good idea! Thanks for the cuttings offer, but I am still struggling to get anything to grow roots from cuttings, despite studying up on it and trying every which method. I haven't given up totally, right now I am still nursing one last rose cutting, a couple of vitec (sp?) and 6 lavender cuttings, but I am not very optimistic given how many before them have bit the dust. As you may be able to tell in my "citrus in tufa" pic on the container site, I broke down and bought myself a bougainvillea in a hanging basket. Cant wait to see what you create for your card table! Comments (10)I do custom height tables for my customers all the time. Typically you probably feel like you are going to do chin-ups on the average dining room table of 29.5" to 30.5" top height. For your height, what we usually do is cut both the table and the chair seat height down. Most chairs are at 18" seat height and in the windsor chairs we use for most applications, we trim from 1/2" to 7/8"" off the chairs so your feet can touch the ground. Then we drop the table height to between 28.25" and 29" depending on your preferences, and try to select a table that doesn't have a deep skirt on it in case you get some tall folks sitting at the table. If you ever need a comfortable recliner, Leathercraft makes a model # 297-07 that is made especially for a woman your size. Its a terrific chair that the ladies really love. -Duane...See MoreConsole Table Behind Sofa
Comments (9)Lolaren - Your room is very pretty. I don't see any lamps. I would put two lamps on your table and remove the benches. I think the white benches are too stark against all the dark colors. Maybe have them refinished in a complimenting color pulled from your room. I would also just put 1 small stack of books and maybe a pretty bowl, platter, candle holder(s) I guess I'm suggesting decorative accessories for on your table. I'm thinking the height you have is what I need for mine. I can't put risers on the bottom as the legs aren't perfectly straight. Also, I don't mind getting a new table. My other pieces are washed w/goldish trim and also some mirrored pieces. My current table is a fruitwood color so it doesn't go well now. Check out houzz.com and just type in console table behind sofa and lots of picutres come up....See MoreLooking for a lamp to go on my console table In my front entrance
Comments (8)Shirley, I probably found the lamp on Wayfair by filtering for buffet lamps. That said, I don't know what exact size you need, but you can figure it by measuring from the top of your console to a point about 3/4 the height of the mirror and look at buffet lamps that are close to that measurement. Then put something shorter and squatter on the other side to balance the lamp....See MoreMazsola
