Kordes rose performance
Comments (51)Thanks, Sandandsun! Poseiden continues to do well in my garden, as do all of my Fairy Tale roses. I've added Golden Fairy Tale, Elegant Fairy Tale, and Garden Delight (all Kordes newer super healthy roses from Palatine Nursery) this year and they are doing amazingly well. Like many of you, we suffered the Polar Vortex Winter From Hell here in Northern Michigan this past winter and I had to prune my roses to the ground, including climbers. But the Kordes Fairy Tale and Kordes Rosanna climbers took off like gangbusters. I haven't sprayed at all this season, and these roses are super clean - no blackspot. I'm gradually replacing many of my more BS prone roses, with a heavy emphasis on the ADR award winning Kordes roses since I no longer spray. It is wonderful to be able to enjoy so many hardy disease free roses here in the north!...See MoreYour favorite non-Kordes/non-Meilland hybrid tea?
Comments (15)without a doubt---LOUISE ESTES. Everything I want in a HT. Good looking bush from top to bottom. Beautiful foliage, long cutting stems, one of the most beautiful blooms I have ever seen and it smells great. I have never seen a picture of this rose that does it any justice. You have to see it in person to understand what I mean. Now it gets tough. #2 would be MOONSTONE---Some good shots on HMF. #3 is BRINESSA---Beautiful smoky pink blooms on a good bush. Foliage like leather. Getting a little tough to find now aday....See MoreTell about your Kordes Roses
Comments (43)sutekesh Not exactly a fashion thing as Belami is a beautiful Kordana but a practical business decision of the Kordana growers in N. America which can only offer so many varieties in a mixed box and the pastels are less popular in general. I would buy this rose over the stronger colors, but I must be a minority in N. America. Yes you are right we did patent it. On names I sometimes have to laugh at all of this because I see posts about names and how terrible the German names are on this site. When we give it a better commercial name for the North America market or in another country then there is criticism on that. I guess there is no winning on the subject! For all the advanced rose lovers use the denomination in the case of Elegant Fairy Tale it is KORterschi. It never changes the world over. It is the legal name and all breeder rights and patents are filed under this name. You will never be confused. Plus all Kordes varieties start with the letters KOR which makes it clear who the breeder is. Same for all other breeders the varieties always start with a standard breeder code....See MoreHave we lost our Kordes rose agent?
