Would I have liked a Perrin & Rowe (was that the name?)? Absolutely! But at my price point, Danze seemed to fit the bill. Have had it for over a year, and still LOVE it! Especially the finish and weight of it--feels REALLY sturdy. And the brushed nickel finish is fabulous!! It's matte but has a great sheen to it...hard to describe, I guess. I liked it so much, I bought the Danze Fairmont faucet for our bathroom reno ($123) and the shower/tub combo for $147. Considering the Delta faucet I liked at Lowe's was $144, I think those prices aren't too bad!! Good luck--it's tough being on these forums and having a modest budget...you learn a lot, but I wouldn't really say that you save in the long run--your list of MUST HAVES just gets longer and longer... :) (terms/brands that were foreign to me before gardenweb...Rohl, Insta-Hot, Vent-A-Hood, Grohe, Miele, Danze, Rev-A-Shelf, Walker-Zanger, toe-kick drawers...and the list goes on and on!) aam31, the Amalfi which is what I sat in at Ferguson is around that width, and my husband and I felt comfortable. For reference, I am a 6'1" female and my husband is 6'0" and we are both broad shouldered. The Mozzano is 29 inches wide and I felt it was a little snug and I also didn't feel like I could stretch out as much. Not Bob the Builder, I can see why you would say that. I am a very tall female with long legs. My husband and I are runners and it's important for us to have a nice tub that I can stretch out and soak in after long runs. My old house had an acylic garden tub and although it was nice and deep, I couldn't even straighten my legs and it didn't hold in heat. I am choosing a V and A tub because it has a 25 year warranty and it being made of stone, it will hold warmth in longer so I can soak comfortably longer. I feel like it's worth the investment :)

Ratdogheads - in answer to your question, I could have sworn my HOE was own root, but it was actually grafted from Jackson & Perkins about 9 years ago. I strongly suspect it has gone own root since I no longer see a graft and I didn't know to bury it in those days. I wouldn't hesitate to plant it own root. I love the changeable color and style of the blooms, all of which I think would complement Darcy Bussell nicely. In this relatively dark bloom, there are hints of the crimson-purple DB shows: She can tend toward an orange-apricot color in cool temperatures, as she was here this May: Most of the time she's a blush color with nice cupped but open blooms like this: To give you an idea of relative size, here is HOE mixed in with other large shrubs in my zone 4 pocket of part shade. The shot is a little bleached out, but HOE is the palest rose mostly in the center of the shot. You can see my 5' black fence behind it and it is already up to the fence in an average year by June as seen here: Bottom line - it's a lovely survivor for me. Cynthia

I live in Colorado, but was in LA for a business trip and went to the "showroom" (pretty much a warehouse), where they opened a crate with "my" tub in it. I tried it out Yes, it's made in China, but I would NOT call it cheapo. It is high quality and just stunning. I ordered it a few weeks later and it literally arrived in 48 hours, all 400 lbs. Wow. I was shocked. How could that be so fast? But there it was, and the delivery company placed it in my garage. My bathroom is nearly complete and I'll share pics when it is. The tub is the focal point, and I am so delighted! I ordered a few things (shower, linear drain & tub filler) from Signature Hardware & was equally impressed with their service, but the opportunity to save $600 (plus actually "trying the tub out") made the KB 90201 purchase a no-brainer. KB 90201 buys in bulk, mostly for contractors & passes the saving on. I saw their vanities when I was in their showroom/warehouse (excellent quality) & I hope to buy one or 2 when I re-do other bathrooms in my 29 yr old home. Good luck!
