Problem with free standing tub filler
Comments (2)I'm a little gun-shy as far as trying another brand that I'm not familiar with. When I originally researched this, I went with the Cheviot tub filler based on not finding complaints. Boy, was that stupid. Because in hindsight, I didn't find glowing reviews either. The Cheviot tub filler continues to run full force for about 6 seconds after shutting off the water and then drips for another 10 seconds, leaving a puddle of water on the floor behind the tub. The wand does the same thing. According to Cheviot, this is normal. I'll be damned if I'm setting out a bowl to catch dripping water every time I use my brand new tub. I have had good luck with Kohler, Moen, Grohe, and to a lesser extent, Hansgrohe. I intend to stick with something from those brands. There is a comparable filler by Toto that's a stretch but probably no more expensive than building the pedestal, topping it with quartz, re-doing the wainscot, painting, buying a roman deck set etc. I need to find some glowing reviews about Toto!...See MoreAck! Free-standing tub faucet on slab?
Comments (2)Thanks for the link cncnh. My problem is that the tub will be in front of a bay window which will come down to about the tub rim -- not much room for a wall mount gorgeous as they are. I contacted Vintage Tub and they very helpfully informed me which brands will work with plumbing stubbed through the floor. It looks like I'm in luck. Both the Sunrise Specialty and the Strom Plumbing models should work for me! Thanks again!...See Morelooking for an orb free standing tub faucet in a pvd finish
Comments (0)We are remodeling and gutting our master bath. There is not enough room for a drop in tub with a deck mount for our shower door to open and close. We are forced to chose a free standing tub instead. I am looking for an ORB telephone set that comes in a PVD finish for care and durability. This has been a very frustrating search. The local plumbing stores have been a dead end. The sales people here have given us wrong information or have poor customer service. We have chosen dark lighting fixtures and I am at my wit's end in trying to find plumbing with a telephone set to match. Does anybody know of a mid to high end plumbing company that manufactures a telephone set in an ORB with a PVD finish? I have looked at Hansgrohe, Rohl, California Faucets, Rubinet, Newport Brass, Kohler, Delta (Brizo) and Moen (Showcase). What other plumbing manufactures would be included in the mid to high end range? I have already spent alot of time and money with a designer on tile, cabinets and lighting selections only to find out companies aren't making a ORB telephone set in a PVD finish. I would have to change my lighting selection to match brushed nickel plumbing but I am have trouble finding enough silver finished lighting to fit my bathroom. Lighting with a dark finish is what seems to be in style. Living finshes for my plumbing are my last resort. I might also post this in the bathroom section. Thanks in advance. Comments (7)I'm currently working on a new build with a concrete floor on the 1st level of the house, which is the level that 2 of the bedrooms are on. The master bath is going to have a free standing tub, but I've decided on a Roman style tub filler that will be mounted to the deck of the tub. You might try this style mount if you can't find a free-standing tub filler that can accommodate a concrete floor. On a related note: how did you finish your concrete floors?...See Morejdez
