Typical bent wood dining chairs. If they were Thonet they would be marked. Nothing carved and I see no evidence of glue nor hand made screws. Dating about 1900 to perhaps 1920.

Nice chairs....I would strive to replace the seats with something like the original woven cane.

Saw a ton of these chairs in the fern-bar days of the 60's and 70's, in lots of restaurants.

To add to Lindac's comment what you are seeing with the screws is what happens when a screwdriver slips or someone applies too much pressure, just to make certain it is tight.

In 1960, my class (8th grade) and several others had to temporarily attend school in what was formerly a large girl's school that was probably established in the late 1800's, or early 1900's, while our new school was being completed. There must have been a hundred of those bentwood chairs in the lunchroom. Fancy eating ! I hate to disagree with lindac92, but not one of those chairs had a cane seat , and they all appeared to be original .

In a school very likely they would have ordered them without a cane seat....as they are more fragile. They were also made with a plain set-in wooden seat as well as a perforated sort of wood seat. I guess I just assumed that since the seats are so obviously a replacement that it was cane they were replacing.

Not marked, or if marked and not repaired professionally. I see very little value, as in making an investment. Value for your space and design? Your call.

Most of the chair seats are rush or canned and the bent wood supports the back and legs of the chair in gentle curved styles.
