Widow’s peak

This is the point formed by hair growing down the middle of the forehead. According to old superstition, a woman have such a growth was slated for early widowhood.

No widow's peak and I've been married for 42 years...so there's one data point....

I knew what a widow's peak was but had no idea that it foretold an early widowhood. I guess that should make me relieved that I only have a cowlick.

Well, I have a Hobson's choice! There was some tinkering with my computer and my login info to the Kitchen Table was deleted and now I can't get back in under my Stacey_mb user name. So either I don't participate on this site at all or, Hobson's choice, I do participate but no choice but to accept the anonymous numbered identity Houzz has assigned to me instead of my own name.

Thanks for that one Jim. I've been mistakenly calling it the Peter Principle. I looked it up and realized that the Peter Principle states that people in a hierarchy tend to rise to their level of incompetence. An employee who is successful in one job will be promoted to a job with a different or higher set of skills that they are not able to master.
