Landscape Design Design Dilemma

Has anyone used a product called GraniteCrete?

Hi Everyone,

I'm considering installing decomposed granite in a few areas of our yard:

1. Side yards we use to access the back yard.

2. An area about 10x30 feet which we'd like to use as a somewhat multipurpose area for an outdoor ping pong table and possibly and area for petanque or bocce in the future.

I'm looking for a product that will stay in place with no or very minimal run off from rain, wind, wear and tear. Also want a natural look and permiability.

So, I've run across a product called GraniteCrete. I've asked a couple of contractors about installing it and they all say its really not much different from regular stabilized DG. As far as I can tell, its used by landscape companies and builders but I haven't found any homeowners who have experience with this product. Has anyone used this? If so, can you please share your experience? Specifically, does the product stay in place over extended use?

It is an add-on that attaches to your skimmer that extends out an arm that will lead dirt to your skimmer. Has anyone used this product and is it worth the purchase?

Jules, there are quite a few threads here on solid surface, just do a search in the box of the bathrooms forum for Solid Surface and choose "in bathrooms." Look for some of the threads with more entries, even if they are old. We have been posting on a couple of threads about solid surfaces and what they are and aren't for years. It is a lot easier to direct people there than to go through the discussion all over again. "Kohler Choreograph?" is the title of one, and another says something about Solid Surface versus Onyx Collection versus some other ones.

I wish all of you had access to the best compost I've ever found--it's certainly not clumpy, nasty or hard to use. It's rocket fuel for my roses and works gently over time (a gentle rocket fuel). It's called Nu Life Organic Compost with mycorrhizae (in 1.5 cu ft bags).. It also has some chicken manure and other good stuff in it. But I think it's only available in the Northwest. This company makes the best potting soil, too. I use the compost on all my roses in November as the start of my feeding regimen. I use it as a mulch, too.
