I have a large sectional with a 5' ottoman which serves just about anyone sitting on the sectional and it is very comfortable. We always put our feet up on the ottoman to watch TV and the shorter end of the sectional can be like a chaise as well.

Hi, I'm not the original poster but I came here with the same issue, lol. I may go with a lower short table for part of the couch and a plant or something else to balance for the rest, like another suggested. I could do my long credenza behind it but I have to have about 8" of space between back of couch and back of sofa...deciding if it looks weird or not at the moment.

We've decided to go with Hancock and Moore because of the construction of the frame, amongst other considerations. I've gotten some good advice from Duane (formerly of this site and now on his own site) and others (thanks to the replies here, too) and now feel a little bit more educated on Leather 101. We went to FLS but they didn't have a Journey. And because we were there, we browsed pretty much everywhere else and got tired and came straight home, thinking we'd made a decision (on leather color) until I read about problems with the 'Document' line (color sometimes rubbing off), and so I learned more--about protected and unprotected leathers and such. Still wanting to sit in a Journey chair or sofa, I called around. The only place I can find one is Boyles, 2 yrs away. Gee, I changed my mind from fabric to leather thinking there would be fewer decisions. I couldn't seem to commit to a fabric type / style / color, etc. I MUST make a decision and take advantage of H&M's winter sale.

I love brown with navy. This PHOTO is a bit over the top, but illustrates the richness of this color combination. I am so bored with gray and greige. You could do a print on the ottoman and the chair, but it might be better to find an area rug that you like first. For instance, when you redo the colors in a bedroom, it's easier to match paint to the linens than the reverse. I think it would be similarly easier to match upholstery fabric to a rug. Something like THIS with THAT perhaps?
